Mogsy
A ban goes without saying. Surely, though, he should be held in jail and brought to trial for a kick to the head like that. Yes, if you use big Dunc as a example then without a doubt, trouble is the lads probably back in Mexico by now!

Mirallas
Club Brugge was playing against Lierse SK (Vellios' new team) yesterday and the ref decided Lierse's away shirts resembled too much to Club Brugge's home shirts, so Lierse players were forced to put on Club Brugge away shirts Could you imagine something like this happening in the Premier League? MikeO
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-28656050 How can you buy your way out of a bribery trial? That's amounts to state sponsored bribery doesn't it ? As in, you're on trial for slipping someone some money to get what you want, and if you slip someone else some more money you can get away with it. "German law allows defendants to make such a payment [£60m], with no presumption of guilt, to a charity or the treasury. On this occasion, about £59.4m will go directly to the German state, with the remainder to a charity that looks after terminally ill children." Glad to see someone has their priorities right . Glad to see someone has their priorities right . 600k out of 60m, so 1% goes to charity? Give the whole thing, its not like its included in the national budget and, since Germany is already doing well, is a relative drop in the ocean whereas to charity it would make a world of difference. I know they didnt have to do it, but all things considered 1% is just not right

Matt
Howard Webb has retired! Hmmm.... This season is going to be full of dubious / chickenshit decisions. Webb I had a lot of time for. Despite some obvious mistakes, he was head and shoulders above the rest of them...

Guest blueboy122
Did he get Sir Alex Ferguson's permission? Makes me laugh how bitter the kopites are towards Man United. Liverpool more than get there fair share of decisions.. Infact probably more than United.
Guest blueboy122
That whole F1 case is baffling. Up in court for bribing but if you bribe the authorities to the tune of £60M the bribing charged will be dropped. You expect that in more corrupt countries but not in Germany. Louis
Yes. Even worse, the player had already served a ban but as he wasn't registered to play, UEFA didn't recognise he had missed three games of their competition. Bereszynski was sent off against Apollon in the final match of Legia’s Europa League campaign last season, earning a three-match suspension. He missed both legs of Legia’s tie against St Patrick’s in the second qualifying round and also sat out the 4-1 first-leg victory over Celtic. However, it has emerged that Bereszynski had not been registered in Legia’s squad for the second qualifying round, and so the matches did not count towards his suspension. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/aug/08/celtic-reinstated-champions-league-uefa-legia-warsaw Very harsh.
