holystove
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/africa/9063044.stm i cant understand this ban. Didnt the French government get involved after the world cup too? The French national assembly wanted to talk about how the actions of the French team reflected on the country as a whole. That's something entirely different from what the Nigerian government is doing.
Louis
The Nigerian government beleive that some members of the NFF had their fingers in the till and launched an investigation. Several members of the NFF have been taken to court by an alledged Government influenced third party over it and FIFA have taken exception to it because as far as they are concerned FIFA should be the ones who launch an investigation. Matt
makes a bit more sense then, but is this punishing Nigeria because FIFA were to slow to investigate?
Louis
Pretty much! I think Zambia Football Association are about to be banned too for similar reasons.
