Louis
Knowsley have come to the conclusion that they were right to sell the land to Tesco. All here if anyone's interested. http://councillors.knowsley.gov.uk/ieListDocuments.aspx?CId=138&MId=4819&Ver=4&StyleType=standard&StyleSize=none&AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=
rubecula
I couldn't make head nor tail of the link Louis. But no worries. Of course Knowsley are pleased with the sale to Tesco. It is good money in their coffers and a regeneration scheme to build up their area. Unfortunately other areas (eg Sefton) are not so pleased as it will detract from their areas. (Sorry for so much use of the word 'area' but I couldn't think of a better way to phrase this.)
Louis
In short... Knowsley admit that the land sale isn't ideal but believe that the GVA (gross value added), introduction of new retail jobs and increase in revenue outweigh the defecit of losing open land.
