Louis
Everton chief executive Robert Elstone claimed earlier in the week that the club had spent £8million on new players during the transfer window in addition to the money received in selling Joleon Lescott to Manchester City. Moyes, though, believes he has merely balanced the books with his summer business. “You can work it out yourself,” said the Goodison manager. “Bilyaletdinov, Heitinga and Distin came to roughly £19m give or take a bit, and money we got back for Lescott after we paid Wolves is about £19m. “We’ve only spent what we have brought in, we haven’t spent any other cash on top of that. That’s what it looks like to me. Times are hard, so I will work to what I can do.”
CaptainFerguson10
“We’ve only spent what we have brought in, we haven’t spent any other cash on top of that. That’s what it looks like to me. Times are hard, so I will work to what I can do.” Just proves that Moyes and the board are not on the same song sheet. Moyes mostly calls it as it is, where our board will seemingly lie at every opportunity. I was saying to MikeO recently, that Moyes is 'undermined' in part by Billy, which seems more and more likely to cause some major division in the future. Anyway, the point being Elstone is proving to be a liar like Billy.
Louis
Elstone's figures could include the academy signings and Jo's loan fee.

Bill
Of course what this really means is that the board have not given Moyes any Money for two years running, Moyes has had to raise his own money with the selling of players, aka Mcfadden, Beattie, AJ,and Lescott. Its as i said a few years ago EFC have sold everything we own, and the only assets we have left are on the pitch. We have in fact become a selling club and that is not the way to breach the gap to the top 4. Moyes has brought us as far as we can go, while the clubs around us have Boardrooms full of cash and are spending millions more on improving, we cannot hope to compete. This season might prove to be the turning point, unfortunately from here it could all go downwards.
Romey 1878
Elstone is no different than the lying buffoon Wyness before him. I wonder how long Elstone will be a yes man to Billy Liar before he pisses off as well? Make the most of the likes of Yakubu, Arteta, Pienaar, Jagielka etc because one of them will be gone next summer <_< .

CaptainFerguson10
Jo loan fee touted at 2.5m WOW! If we don't sign him after virtually shelling out 4 million in loan fees for him, then something is very wrong. Of course what this really means is that the board have not given Moyes any Money for two years running, Moyes has had to raise his own money with the selling of players, aka Mcfadden, Beattie, AJ,and Lescott. Amazing to believe their lies summer after summer, especially when it's season renewal time.

Louis
He says "My involvement with Everton is to support" "It's an endorsement of Bill Kenwright, an endorsement of David Moyes - it is not a takeover. The more financial stability we can give the club, the better. If there is to be a new stadium, and if that stadium merits having great restaurants and a casino, let's go for it. But I will not be making those decisions. It will be up to the chairman how much he uses me." and "I would like to think on the marketing side that I probably have a lot to offer. My involvement is to help strengthen the club, give them more money, give them more opportunities. "I'm 55 and remember Everton's heyday. I'm old enough to understand that David Moyes has got the team well on the way to glory and so this is the right time for me to get involved. I see myself as pretty knowledgeable on the merchandising side." That's the only time he's spoke about what he brings to the club afaik. CaptainFerguson10
http://www.sos1878.co.uk/everton-news/moyes-robert-elstone-is-wrong/ Article suggests Moyes isn't happy at all with the lack of investment, and made a stand with his statement earlier in the week. Also a poster rightly points out that while fans are stupid, sorry gullible enough to keep believing in Kenwright then nothing will change. If we stop attending games and lining the clubs pockets, then something will give.

I love Everton and pay for my season ticket to go and watch them play week-in week-out, i'm not going to be an idiot and think that me not going is going to change things. If you think that not attending games is going to result in a positive change in the financing and ownership of the club then you are the gulliable one. I wonder how long Elstone will be a yes man to Billy Liar before he pisses off as well? Elstones hands have been tied by the mess KW left behind. its difficult enough to run a football club, but running a football club on the financial brink, and no assets is much much harder. He is doing as much as he can to turn things around. he cant do anything about the stadium, thats out of his hands, but we'll see how that goes soon enough. the £30m quoted was inclusive of the new players wages over the duration of their contracts. we are in a very dangerous position financially, and i worry BK will take us down. You may think that a few people not going to games is going to have a positive change then you are sorely mistaken. Why don't you cheer up about things for awhile, you seem to be taking a very negative stance on most things on the club at the moment. You should enjoy this time now, we can forget about crap off the pitch and actually enjoy the reason why we love the club. The football. I did agree that we should all enjoy the stuff on the pitch that we cheer every weekend, however now I totally disagree after watching that utterly diabolical second half at Craven Cottage!!!!
