MikeO
....O'Neill will just rotate when the need arises, something we could only dream of. If you look at Villa's first team squad (HERE) I'd say they were pretty much on a par with us. Twenty first team regulars (inc two keepers) with seven or eight youngsters as back-up. MikeO
Which is why I'm saying they're building a squad by bringing in players that play in the same position as others they already have... So you seriously think that, given that today we are on a par with them, by the end of the month their squad size will be of a level that we can only dream of? How many more players do you think they'll sign than us? Five? Ten? I think that when the season starts we'll still be on a par with them. Time will tell . If they sign enough players so that they can rotate their squad and still ahve quality on the pitch, then yes it will be of a level we can only dream of. We might bring in as many players as they do but I'd put money on their squad players being better than ours because ours will more than likely be of the standard of Segundo Castillo. See you on the 31st Mark.....I think you (and others) will be much happier by then. Seems to me we don't have so much of a "glass half empty" mentality on here at the moment, more of a "glass smashed and empty and the barrels's dry anyway!" attitude . Adpom
Seems Villa like paying over the odds for players, 10mil for Downing and 8mil for Delph, glad we didn't waste that on either of them

Guest blueboy122
Definitely one we should be looking at. However it's another midfield player.
Quinn31
I like him a lot, and I think Ossie's role should be minimal from now on. That being said, we have four quality central midfielders in Barry (though he seems to be off to a slow start), McCarthy, Besic, and Gibson (though his injury record means we can't rely on him)
Matt
Good player in a rich vein of form. However, since he is English expect to see a price tag that's unjustified...

bluenosetoffee
He would be a great signing. He is a good counter attacking player and he would fit in straight away at Everton.
Guest millwallforever
Never seen him play a full game, but he always struck me as a wee bit lightweight.

foobiezw
Yes pleased. Ran the show for Villa against City before the former's collapse in the last 10 minutes. Has the running and creativity we're missing the middle of the park at the moment. His range of passing ain't nothing to sniff at either.
