Louis
Better late than never, a the CAF Awards in February(!) he made the African XI of the year: CAF Best XI Goalkeeper Carlos Idriss Kameni (Espanyol and Cameroon) Defenders Wael Gomaa (Al-Ahly and Egypt) Ismail Taye Taiwo (Olympique Marseille and Nigeria) Joseph Yobo (Everton and Nigeria) John Mensah (Olympique Lyon and Ghana) Midfielders Mohamed Aboutreika (Al-Ahly and Egypt) Michael Essien (Chelsea and Ghana) Yaya Toure (Barcelona and Cote d’Ivoire) Sulley Muntari (Inter Milan and Ghana) Attackers Samuel Eto’o (Barcelona and Spain) Emmanuel Adebayor (Arsenal and Togo I tell you what, that's one hell of a team. troy8
Which continent do you think could produce the strongest team?? Either Europe or South America easily, whilst this African team is quite impressive I'd say it would be very hard to top a "Best of" Europe or South America side. Churinga2
Best of Europe! Goalkeeper ------------- Casillas Defense ----------- Evra Jagielka Terry Dani Alves Midfield -------- Iniesta Ribery Xavi/Pirlo (can't decide) Gerrard Attack ------- Henry Villa Substitutes ------------- Howard Arteta Fellaini Baines I made this in a hurry so don't kill me for forgetting some players Edited April 28, 2009 by Churinga

I'm going to think about my team and will post up in a bit. The best team, based on continent, would easily be Europe at the moment, very very closely followed by Africa. South American football has slumped a little bit recently.

I think europe would have the greatest depth, but I think you could definatlet make an argument for south america having a stronger starting 11. Kaka, robinho and messi up front would be hard to beat.
holystove
---------------------------------------Casillas--------------------------------------- ----Bosingwa-----------------Puyol ----------Vidic-----------------Jankulovski-- ----- Ronaldo -------- Gerrard -----------------------Pirlo -------- Ribery ------- ---------------------- Torres ---------------------- Ibrahimovic ------------------- in my opinion this team would beat anything any other continent can put together. actually i'd love to see a game of this team against south america, could be the greatest game ever. Out: Reina Sneijder Cannavaro In: Casillas Ribery Terry and then we're agreed. my bench would be a bit different though, don't think I'd have Henry or Lahm. holystove
can't believe you both wouldn't include Ibrahimovic even on the bench .. Serie A players seem to be missing from both your teams .. It's a pretty good league, you should watch it more. anyway, still convinced though that even aaron's team with sneijder(??? ) would run over an all-offense, disorganized south american team. jamiemaher85
I'd have Zlatan in my team. I love him. Playing along side a more consistant performer like Torres would allow the luxery of him. I know alot of people can't stand him, but I love the guy. He's the footballing equivalant of marmite.
