MikeO
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...nty/7811098.stm Would have a lot to live up to following his old man but it'd be quite a story.
Romey 1878
That will be Derby relegated this season then. He's only ever managed non-league ffs, it's on a similar scale to Ince going to Blackburn and that blew up big time.

Bill
Only a matter of time! I agree but think its maybe a bit early for him yet, i'd have thought he would stay with Burton and have a season in the league first, certainly looks like he will be coming up from the conference. MikeO
He's been with Burton ten years and they seem to be currently the best team outside the league. I don't think the Blue Square is much less in terms of set-up and quality than Leagues 1 & 2 these days, so I think really it's a relatively small step-up to the Championship. He has far more experience in terms of years than Ince did, he's a sounder character than Ince (I think) and would be taking arguably a smaller step than Ince. I think he'd do OK. Louis
Didn't he play for Liverpool and England? If he goes, good luck to him
MikeO
Didn't he play for Liverpool and England? Was largely overlooked in his time at Liverpool, never a regular starter....prefer to think of him as a Forest player, "the Number Nine" his dad always called him . I think it is a fairly big leap, mainly due to the fact that Burton are only part-time. I'm not saying he can't make the step-up but it will be very hard for him. Way too much expectation. It would be like Darren Ferguson taking over at Man Utd, the pressure and expectation will be huge.
