The Regulator
Try this one.... First Merseyside derby 13th Oct 1894....Everton win 3-0. What's wrong with the following statement... "...in 1894 it was Everton who drew first blood, as they beat the reds 3-0 at Goodison Park." There was no Goodison park in 1894
MikeO
There was no Goodison park in 1894 Wrong...we moved to Goodison in 1892.
DonKey
There was no Derby in 1894. Liverpool were in the 2nd Division and we were in the 1st Division.

First ever derby was 13th Oct 1894, Everton won 3-0 at Goodison...goals scored by Bell, Latta and McInnes.

MikeO
EERRrrmmm........Perhaps luckypool didn't play in red in those days <_< Close enough 250. Amazed this isn't a more widely known bit of trivia, but according to www.historicalkits.co.uk, which appears to have done its research...the teams that day would have played in these kits.... Everton ( ) in red. Liverpool in blue. I don't know this to be true (Bill may be able to confirm because he was there I think )....just came across it looking at old shirts....but it certainly appears to be the case. Shocking. dark
I knew that Everton played in Red and Liverpool played in Blue in the old days but I never knew what the actual design of the kit was, I have been meaning to look it up on Google but never got round to it. On our Wikipedia page it shows the Black and Red shirt which was used when we was called St.Domingo. Below is some of the shirts that we used throughout our history.
