Louis
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/...n-Football.html At the Emirates Stadium, police and stewards had to break up fights between Arsenal and Everton fans. In a sign of the times, though, footage was posted quickly on YouTube and fans used the message boards to insult each other. Not seen any of this myself although I heard that Arsenal fans were above Everton fans and a couple were spitting and sadly the Arsenal stewards were on the receiving end of the retaliation. dark
The Football Association have called on Aston Villa to ban for life the supporter who struck referee's assistant Phil Sharp with a coin during Saturday's clash with Portsmouth. Sharp was hit on the forehead by a 50p coin thrown from behind the Villa Park dugout towards the end of the goalless draw and needed treatment for a substantial cut before being able to complete the game. FA spokesman Adrian Cooper said: "These sort of incidents are absolutely unacceptable. There is no way that match officials should have to worry about their safety at the game. "There is no place for this sort of behaviour and we will be fully investigating this matter in co-operation with Aston Villa and the police. We would fully expect that, if the individual is identified, he would be banned for life. Saw that incident on the telly, terrible. They say that the fan was aiming for Harry Redknapp and accidentaly hit the linesman/fourth official. Shocking.
