Both my computers updated last night and today Chrome has gone crazy (on both), eg I can't post on here though I can log on and read; same applies with hotmail, I can look at my in box but can't open any mail. Also won't let me log on to one of my online bank accounts, while others are fine. Bonkers.

Can't stand Edge or IE so (on Josh's advice) I'm giving Opera a go. Seems good so far.

Sorry, problem with my original post.

I was posting as to why people are using two 't's in 'isn'tttt', but it appears that the system adds a 't' automatically?

Autocorrect on my side. Ever since iOS 11, the autocorrect has gone mental. I accidentally wrote ahould and that got translated into  "agh lots" :dontknow:

There's something strange going on, some people are losing letters after apostrophes so isn'tt appears as isn't.

Like Matt suggested I don't think it's a TT issue though, it seems to be autocorrect on some devices.

My older brother who has returned to Liverpool after 67 years away, was having lunch the other day with the ex Archbishop of Liverpool, Patrick Kelly (now retired).  He told my brother that he was once at a function with Ken Dodd who asked him -  'You know all those letters St. Paul wrote, did anyone ever reply?'

:lol:Question that needs answering that.

New one on me today, was driving into Exeter along a relatively main road when I was confronted by five unmarked police cars with blue lights flashing escorting an ambulance but they were driving down the middle of the road so everyone had to pull over to get out of the way. My assumption was that whoever was in the ambulance was a seriously bad guy and the escort was in place to stop anyone ramming the ambulance to facilitate an escape attempt. It was also stangely going in totally the wrong direction if they were trying to get to the nearest A&E/hospital.

@London Blueany idea?

I've always avoided "tribute" bands myself though I'm often told some of them are very good. We were lucky Palfy that we grew up in an era when bands went on tour to sell records (which was where they made their money) so tickets to watch live were cheap, now things in the era of cheap/free downloads etc bands make their money from touring so tickets are astronomically priced. Hence the evolution of the tribute acts I guess. I missed the Pistols because Guildford was one of the many venues that banned them sadly but back in those days I was at a gig at least once a fortnight, happy days.

The first band I ever saw live was T.Rex and the last was Cold Play in between I've seen The Sex Pistols, The Jam, The Clash, The Specials, Bad Manners, Madness, Michael Jackson, David Bowie, Status Quo, Rose Royce and Kid Creole and the Coconuts.

I've seen many more at festivals but the above are those who I went to see in concert, for me the 70s and 80s were the best years musically in my life I also love late 50s and 60s sounds but was far too young to experience the music and culture together.

I also saw The Jam several times because they came from Woking which was about four miles away from me so I saw them in their very early days, also Bruce Foxton was often in my local:). Reading was the festival to be at back then and I saw (I sort of remember:unsure:) many bands there. Hammersmith odeon (doesn't exist anymore) was also a good venue for me because I could get a bus direct their from right opposite my house, plus had some great nights at the Hope and Anchor in Islington and the Half Moon in Putney which were brilliant small venues.

You couldn't make it up!

Today was stair lift fitting day.  The fitters said they were coming at 9.30am.  Set alarm for 8.00am, getting dressed and the front door bell rang. Her indoors was already downstairs and I heard her open the front door and then close it again almost immediately.  A minute later the phone rang, I answered it on the bedroom extension. A guy said he was from Stannah and could I confirm my house number.  I told him the number and he said that he'd just been to that number and the lady sent him away.  I went down and let him in.  When he came the first time, Her indoors thought he said he was from Satnav and was selling something!  To be fair, we weren't expecting them until 9.30.  He's gone now, did an excellent job.

You never know who is at the door!

Front door bell rang this afternoon.  My daughter,  who is visiting, went to open the door came back in and said 'the Prime Minister is at the door'.  I said 'invite her in'.  Theresa May came in and stayed for about 10 minutes.  Had a good chat and she answered questions, very personable.  Can always say the Prime Minister has been in our house. Just to clarify, she is our MP.  I know she is not everyone's cup of tea but she does work hard.  Every week-end she is out and about in the constituency.

When she came in her bodyguard stayed just outside the front door.  Out of habit, my daughter started to close the door, the bodyguard shouldered it open!
