Louis
It looks pretty good so far: http://www.penninewaterways.co.uk/ll/liverpool-link15.htm I don't know when it will be finished, it'll be strange going to the Albert Dock seeing it full of canal boats. rubecula
Just a stray thought to cross my mind. How close to the proposed Kirkby site does the canal go? I was just thinking how cool it would be to go to the match on a boat. Silly thought I suppose, but you never know. <_<
Zed
The canal does go near Kirkby as far as I can remember, but not that close They have a canal boat trip in manachester wher you can have lunch on the boat then go the match, so its not such a silly thought
Louis
Update - expected to be finished Early 2009 and will be open to public in Spring 2009. At the closest point it's 1.1 miles to Kirkby,. so you're actually better off going by canal than by car because you can park closer! Louis
It's amazing what Steve Gibson will resort to, to get bums on seats.
