She lived in Canada mate under normal circumstances I would have got a flight and gone, she was the eldest of my mum’s 2 sisters and 1 brother my mum being the youngest of the 4.
When she was 15 she left home to work in service for a rich family in Liverpool before WW2, which was quite common in those days for girls in the pit villages of Newcastle to go into service for the Toffs, then at 20 she went into the NAFFI were she met my uncle who was in the Army during WW2, and unbelievably he was from Swindon and his brother and sisters families are still here, I met his brother once when my aunt was over in the mid 70s, just seemed strange to me that we ended up in Swindon from Newcastle when I was 3.
If Mandy’s youngest sisters husband had died that side of the family would have struggled, her other sister had a double mastectomy about 6 months ago and has not long finished her cancer treatment, so if Michael had gone the family would have been devastated, and I get on really well with him he’s a smashing bloke even though he’s season ticket holder at Chelsea, I cannot say how happy and relieved I am that he got through this, and hopefully I’ll be able to speak with him in a few days when he’s up to it. 

Dunno what's going on with the testing in the UK but there is zero chance your infection rate it correct, and needless to say if you don't know who has got it you've no chance of stopping it spreading.

Still being stuck in Spain, and having been here since January, everyone in Spain, both Spanish and English were saying why are people from Madrid being allowed to travel to  Liverpool.
Dont forget Spain was way ahead of the UK with the outbreak, and why Cheltenham was allowed to go ahead was pure money, not science.
I do think the leaders of both scientific and government are equally to blame for not controlling things better.
And whoever was in charge of the country the scientific advice would have been the same.

We are victims of our PM and his government as stated by right wing papers, a PM who didn’t attend the first 5 Cobra meetings, who was more interested in Brexit and selecting his front bench, who took a 2 week break at a country retreat, who refused to work weekends, then tries to portray himself as a Churchillian figure as though he has been leading the fight from the beginning, when in truth he went AWOL in the line of duty, he’s a disgrace to this nation he should resign when this is over, and if he doesn’t then the Tory party should have the honesty and integrity to push him. 
He should go down in the annuals of History as Chamberlain figure only worse, and not be held up to a leader of Churchill’s stature. 

Unfortunately honesty and integrity doesn't exist in that party otherwise bj would never have gotten in power in the first place, just as they did with May they've swapped favours for themselves rather than get rid and do what's best for the people. They all need to be held to account. Talking of accountability it's absolutely disgusting that they never take responsibility, never just answer questions directly. Shouldn't take the likes of Piers Morgan of all people to call them out on it and keep repeating questions.

98... lived through ww2 and died in an age where the lack of urgency and protection from the government has seen so many lovely, hard working human beings who deserved so much better inntgeir latter years to pass away without loved ones being able to comfort them.

God save us dumb and dumber are on the case, these have to be the 2 worst leaders in the Western World, who until a few weeks ago were in complete denial of the seriousness of Covid19.

Here in the Atlanta area, we face a potential catastrophe. The number of COVID-19 cases is soaring, so what does the governor do? As of this weekend, parks and beaches will reopen, as will eat-in restaurants, hair cutters, tattoo shops, spas, massage parlors, bowling alleys, movie theaters, and many other stores. Never have I encountered such stupidity in a leader, despite (un)healthy competition.

Fan feels unwell then goes the game and blames government for not making a decision to call off the game because people who have the virus may spread it. 
Sadly he is not the only person to be like this. People arent thinking of others. 

I'm not saying they should all be sacked or changes made, but people are acting like you can't say a word against those responsible because 'now isn't the time'. Bullshit, now is the time to stand up and say something, not when the dust has settled. People's lives are at stake here so if people are doing the wrong thing they should be told now, because a change in direction/attitude/behaviour now could literally be the difference between life and death.

Mps lying should be a criminal offence because they are the precursor or cover up to bad decisions....  start throwing them in jail. That would sort things out.... if they know their crooked ways will result in tough questions that could get them locked up for not answering truthfully then we would be in a better place.

just finished season 1 of “the Witcher”.  Was fantastic if you like fantasy stuff like lord of the rings or game of thrones.

Finished City on the Hill last night Bill, really enjoyed it. Bacon is brilliant, the guy playing DeCoursey Ward is great too.

Finally started Peaky Blinders this week. Generally speaking I don't care for mob/ganster shows. I didn't pay much attention to the music until (I leave subtitles on) it popped up with "Hardest Button to Button" by White Strips, which is a great time....but it was different song. Since then I have paid more attention - it throws me off a bit, with modern music set against the 1920's backdrop. That said, they have some great music.
But sure as shit, I'm pulled in, halfway thru the second season after a couple of days.
But it's really weird seeing John Stones playing a Birmingham gangster, but he's more convincing in that role than as a CB.
