And I don't blame you if you are tbh. Being a fan of this club for the past few years has been torturous!

Lots of rumours on Twitter that a deal to bring him back is imminent, supposedly he has changed his bio on Instagram back to Liverpool and put all his Everton photos back up
Even more of an indication that a deal is close is crayons were spotted in the Finch Farm canteen

I fully expect Patterson to start the season and the position to become his to lose to Coleman. Hopefully he performs well and Coleman features sporadically when needed.

Agree. Not to mention the shit he copped week in week out when he was playing. I hate they way he left but ultimately I don’t blame him. If he comes back and helps us move towards stability then great. He will never be an Everton great after the move but I think he will show more desire, heart & talent than what we’ve seen from other players the last 3/4 years.

Thanks for your concern though 😛.

Interesting if you go back to the first page of this thread - we where having very similar discussing about him, but talk was of between £25M and £35M for him last summer. A 21/22 years maybe having a bit of a dip in form last season in a struggling Burnley team has not turned him in to a shit player, but it has almost halved his price!! - now actually is the time to buy him.

I’m warming up to this transfer. We need a left footer, it’s easy to forget he is only 22 so there’s a good chance we get our money back at worst with him.
Also, Tarkowksi has come in and already shown to have a bit more to his game than he was able to show with burnley ( mainly in passing ). I’m holding on to some hope that Mcneil can flourish here and showcase a bit more of his technical ability here than he could with Burnley.

I wouldn’t say any of those are predominantly any side (Dele in particular is not a wide player). Forget Mills, and we know Iwobi isn’t a winger as we found out last season, finally. If Townsend makes a good recovery we don’t need to be counting on him either.
Gordon and Gray are both right footed, we need a left footed winger in there. As we’ve not had a left footed winger for some time I don’t think we’ve seen anything to suggest the want for them to be inverted. But only having right footers we’ve had to play one of them on the left.
If we did play with inverted wingers it reduces the threat of DCL as a goal scorer anyway.

We’ll need options, if we have two right and two left footered wingers it will give that.

A left-footed set piece specialist was one of the key focuses this summer - something we’ve been desperate for and in McNeil, I think we’ll see a lot more quality from deadball situations.

The more you look at Neil the more his transfer makes sense.
    - Has a good attitude and character and is a hard worker, a must in my opinion,
    - by the speed the transfer is going it seems he wants to come to Everton, (I feel a lot of our targets are waiting on or wanting better offers, such as European football or nice pay packets - well fuck them!!)
    - He is not injury prone, and has great energy to get up and down the pitch,
    - Left footed to give greater balance to the squad, and a good left foot at that,
    - can cross the ball and deliver good balls from set pieces,
-has top numbers in tracking back and puts in a defensive stint,
-has top numbers on creating chances (at Burnley as well)- (it actually up to others to convert them and turn more in to assists),
-dribbles with his head up and does it very well,
    - does shot and has a good shot, but admittedly it to far from the goal so is not converting enough (that should not be to difficult to coach out of somebody and improve on in a team who will want to play possession based football),
    - his assist and goal numbers where not as good last year as previous seasons - so this summer he is not ear marked as the next big thing, so his inflated price tag from last summer has dropped considerably, he is actually affordable and good value this summer. If his goal numbers and assist where higher last season (which I am sure a few are bemoaning about), he would probably be out of our price range at +£30M mark.
    - he is only 22.
To me he already lots of attributes going forward, but has even more attributes tracking back.
We have to remember other than for a few months at the end of last season - in the Premier league has only been trained and managed under Dyche. It think this lad has all the tools in his locker that a different coaching staff and manager with a more possession based style of play could really tap in to.
Over the next 3-4 season I don't see him dropping away and becoming unsellable at the £15M mark, but I do think he has the potential to really up both his assists and goals numbers which could see him double or triple in value.
I think there is a lot to get behind with McNeil.

She joined Everton from a local charity, and led the EITC… promoted to COO then deputy CEO under Robert Elstone (absolute buffoon) then CEO, after which she also took the sport England board job which is another community based role.
in short - she has had no prior experience in running a football club.  Charity is her background, may answer how we give so much money away.

grant ingles…Was he finance director at Sydney fc? Not seen anything to confirm this but what I will say is “how is he still in a job at our club”….
According to Everton fc article:- As Finance Director, Grant has been responsible for all financial aspects of the Club, including the regular communication of financial performance to the Board, driving the profitability of the Club, overseeing all banking and funding arrangements, managing the Club’s cash-flow position, supporting and maintaining governance structures that ensure the financial assets of the Club are protected, and ensuring that the Club complies with all statutory regulations.”
so bare in mind that was 3 years ago….. my question is “what has he been doing?”…..  just to be clear Kevin Thelwell came in and within a month or so implemented a wage structure.   WHAT THE FUCK! He must have smashed his pc monitor in at the sheet ineptitude of the twats who run our club.
so lads, rather than picking and pulling over technical elements of what concerned fans are pulling together in order to hold this shit show of a board to account, look at the bigger picture.   We have a shit board, led by a lying phony gobshite of a chairman and their credentials are laid bare in their performance = shit.

unless of course I’ve missed something and our corporate performance and governance has been on point? I’m sure there may be a technicality you can pull from somewhere to help them out.

It’s not a lie though. The basis of the statement is to make a comparison to other clubs, the comparison was made using clubs official figures. There is no other basis for comparison.
why would they make a statement saying “includes Everton staff who have since left”….. when the figures that place United at the top include EdWoodward who has since left?  Then do we make assumptions on whether or not people have had pay rises etc etc?

you are being churlish to call this a lie, especially when we are debating the performance of a board who’s chairman is an absolute bullshitter of the highest order, who had lied right through his time at the club.

you can stick your fingers in your ear and block out the noise as best as you can, the reality is the 27 year campaign has got the attention of the media.  The bullshit I referred to maybe years old, the currrent reality is the same bloke who lied then is heading up a shockingly poor board and he should be out immediately with the other goons.

If they'd have added that proviso then no problem; the issue I have is that they, you and I know that since then three salaried board members have departed and consequently they, you and I know that it's no longer the case. And they're presenting it as current fact, when they know that it isn't.
If that's not the definition of a lie I don't know what is.

So as at the latest official figures our board is the second highest paid?  That’s fine.  If the official figures had since changed and we had alternative means to do like for like comparisons with other clubs then if would be disingenuous. unless you have details on the moving feast of premier league football club financials that enable us to describe “2nd highest paid board” as a lie?

am I ok with fans groups lying? No I’m not.  Just like I wasn’t ok with kenwright lying about the fortress fund to fend off gregg and an admission that it was a lie being used as a means to an end.

you would like to think that such an honourable, super fan, chairman and worlds biggest Everton fan wouldn’t lie would you?

On reflection “2nd highest paid board in the league” isn’t a lie though is it?  Unless there are updated figures which won’t be out till next year then they are comparing the latest numbers  vs the other clubs latest numbers.

I mean … Ed Woodward was on £2.6m and he has left United but those numbers are baked into the stats that place them as highest paid board.  He left in December 21.

so whether you like it or not, our board at a time of failure and piss poor decision making have been the second highest paid in the league.  Even if we were the 8th highest it would be a pisstake.

Let’s just hope the protests get that shower ejected from our club.

Let’s not spend time bickering amongst ourselves over what we say/how we say things. As sure as night follows day Kenwright is full of shite, he’s more into massaging his ego than doing what is right for the club. We need unity with all factions, we need to cut the head off the poisonous snake. If this wankstain continues to be involved we don’t need to worry about the championship next year cause we’ll be in league 1 the year after.
