It’s a massive gamble on Chelsea’s behalf - which they can afford.
It’d be an even bigger gamble on our behalf to turn down such a big fee - which we can’t afford to do.
If Thelwell or whoever feel they’ve got the highest fee possible then it’s time to take it a move on. If Broja is the number 1 striking target, even on-loan, we need to get that over the line first. I do actually feel we’ve negotiated well on this deal up to now - £35m to Spurs was the starting so almost double at £60m - way above what an attacker with 4 goals in 50 odd games is worth on current ability.

If the deal being touted is correct we would be crazy not to accept, yes there’s potential with him, but he’s shown the last three games it’s some way off, soft or shots straight at the keeper, and runs into too many dead ends. I’ll trust Frank and his team to get the money and use it wisely.

Let’s just say it as it is…..  we are playing games of football and are not scoring goals and we have played 2 teams we should have beaten…. We are doing this without a critical component - a striker.
it’s farcical absolutely farcical. We don’t have the luxury of time, we knew we needed a striker in June… and Murphy’s law then means having just one fit viable option means we get them injured doesn’t it.

I think Grey has it well within him to get +7 goal a season, and at the moment every goal counts. He is a player who sometimes can come up with a goal out of nothing, and these are players we have been lacking in recent years. So I am happy to have him around the squad. These is definately room for improvement but he has the basics of speed and skill, add some improved decision making; with will be on the coaching team to get out of him; and he could be capable of doing good things in a blue shirt. Especially given his actual cost.

I like Gray, I think he is a very good player, very underrated. 

We've got a good player in Iwobi now and he went through some intense dislike from fans, so it is possible to turn it round.

I am with what Romey is saying, personally utterly fed up. I love this club and have been emotionally involved for years.  I lay no blame at Frank and his team and there is absolutely no way I want a knee jerk reaction and a change of manager anytime soon. Get in the striker that we desperately need,  please. 

I'm feeling pretty fed up at the moment ands I can't wait for the window to close so I can know where we're at and what we're dealing with.
I'm just worried about our situation all the time right now. No one tell me to not worry about it because what will be or whatever bullshit you want to say, because it's really not that easy. If we don't get the signings we need then we are in deep, deep shit.
We all know Everton are well capable of fucking up a good situation but this time we're coming from a place where we survived relegation by the skin of our teeth, so god knows what catastrophe we could bring on ourselves from there .
It's not an exaggeration to say we could go into a bit of a death spiral if we don't get this right. Go on a bad run due to our ineptitude and Lampard could get the sack and then we need to start again, and fuck knows who the hell we'd hire this time. Lampard's making mistakes but if those above don't get him what he needs (or are incapable of it due to past mistakes) then it won't be on him.
I'm on edge every day waiting for us to get what we need. Some days I'm feeling up at the prospect of who we're signings, or who we're linked with, because they'll improve us. Then I'm shitting myself at who we're linked with or about the signings we haven't made yet.
The window being closed will at least allow me to know what I should be feeling.

As each day goes by our bargaining strength diminishes.  Clubs will know from our performance and results that we quite frankly have to get players over the line, Gordon will need to be sold but I fear that his value will be pushed down if we are determined to go for Broja.

Toffeetv were talking about strikers the other day and the lack of 20+ goal scorers. How many are there?  Kane, Son, Salah.
the average golden boot tally for last 4 years is 22/23 goals. In the 5 years prior it was around 28/29
What’s the reason? I think it’s because of front 3 formations and goals being shared around. 
 
if we get someone who is strong in the air, mobile, & can finish then it should improve us.  To get someone of the ilk who is premier league proven isn’t gonna happen. We are likely going to have to look at the likes of brereton Diaz…. And hope that he can do a job and dcl finds his way back to fitness and form

He does, but that's not what I'd like bringing him in for. He would create indirectly and defend from higher up the pitch. Don't get me wrong, he's hardly a first choice striker but he is a hard working forward.
Also, if he comes here I'll expect him to miss a lot less, just because he'll have a lot less chances to miss...
