What is up with his subs?  Been an issue for his whole tenure.
    We can't score goals...
When DCL plays, where are the crosses into the box?  Non-existent.
When Maupay plays are we playing to his strengths? Not entirely sure what they are. Maybe a nuance in the box predator? Are we trying to feed that? A slide rule pass every now and then? Does not seem like it.
Seems like our only plan is individual brilliance from the wingers cutting in.  If that is our only threat, it is very easy to defend.
Other than Iwobi, does anyone in the squad have more than 1 assist from open play?  Why do our attackers hate passing the ball?  Dribbling down blind alleys all day.
Is Frank trying to do anything about what I mentioned above?  Is it the players refusing to change? Benching Gordon hasn't improved his attitude.  Can any manager in the world fix it?
The championship might not contain the best players but it is full of players that have grit and stick to their jobs.  Really fearing for us.

Really think Brands + Silva could've been a good long-term partnership. Think they saw eye to eye on a lot and SIlva is a good manager, but it was a lot of pressure to be under when we were sat near relegation in December (Plus sounds like Ancelotti must've been willing to come, satisfying Moshiri's desire for a "Hollywood manager". Once Carlo came in, it was always going to be overspending on brand name players from Champions League clubs (Allan, James Rodriguez, etc) -- no room for Brands to control player acquistion or keep a disciplined wage structure in place
My thoughts on all the combos:
Koeman + Walsh: Was never going to lead to great things, but Koeman was the worst panic sacking of them all (sacked in October, right?). HIm and Walsh had different ideas + Moshiri was meddling about (Rooney), it was a big vacuum to fill with Lukaku's departure. Again, feel bad for Koeman as he was the first panic sacking of the Moshiri era and it set us down this road (five years ago now), but don't have a ton of faith in Walsh and not sure Koeman really has "vision" to build a team (nor the charisma/personal skills to manage a dressing room over the long term - probably the definition of a "coach" rather than "manager")
Silva + Brands: This one had potential. Young, progressive coach with more of a continental mindset that would've let Brands focus on acquiring younger players, "value" in the market, and building a coherent team philosophy
Ancelotti + Brands: I have fondness for Carlo but this is what put us on the road to FFP difficulties... We tried to hard to bat beyond our financial firepower, bring in a hollywood manager and all his brand name signings... Now we're suffering and have one hand tied behind our back
Benitez + Brands: I feel bad Rafa was stuck with practically zero transfer budget, however he took a squad that was midtable the prior year (albeit finishing on a low note) into a relegation battle whilst seemingly feuding with everyone at the club. Was never going to work.
Lampard + Thelwell: Both Lampard and Thelwell have at least one hand tied behind their back with the mess of a roster they have and without the financial power of Ancelotti and earlier's reign. I'm starting to have serious doubts about Lampard as a coach, but again he's stepped into an incredibly tough situation. Time will tell with Thelwell, I hope he's given a chance and can sort this out with our Premier League status in tact, but I'm starting to give up hope on tha as well.

It should already have started to have been implemented and the 6 signings in the summer. It looks like we were being set up to sit deep and play on the break until we signed McNeil and Maupay. That might not be our long term strategy but it might be needed to move us from now, to safety and settling us down in the league for a couple of years.
You always have to think about what style of play you want to implement, because otherwise whatever decisions the club make will be all over the place. If we want to play football on the counter attack, then lets bring in a manager who knows how to set a team up to do it successfully and the players in that will suit that way of playing. That isn't a luxury, it is a necessity.

Creativity is definitely a massive issue. Iwobi was our only real spark and he is struggling to make an impact. Our wide players are massively inconsistent and our centre forward barely touches the ball.
Richarlison wasnt exactly creative but he bundled his way through things, won the ball in good areas and made a habit of getting on the end of things.
As Southampton showed at the weekend though, you dont need to be creative. Hit your big man, get runners off him, be positive and hope something gets finished. We have an attacker with one of the best leaps in the league and yet we barely stand a cross up for him to attack.
From DoF down, we are desperate for some clear direction yet all I see is a lot of confused thinking.

Yeah, let's play him and wait 10 minutes until he gets injured and we need to waste a sub and then have to disrupt the defence as well.
    Clever, very clever.
I disagree on your last point as well, as you know. He's crap because he's crap.

Be nice if people would stop including Mina. People need to stop pinning their hopes on someone so unreliable, and so do managers. He will always, always let you down.

Leeds fans want Marsch sacked and are calling him Yank Lampard 🤣.
They are dodgy at the back (unsurprising given the quality of the players and how they try and dominate) but the rest of their football is pretty good and they are bloody entertaining!
I think they need to be careful of what they wish for as they will get the points they need to survive in my opinion.

Has anyone the equalising Fernandes goal for United?
IMO that has to be given as offside against Rashford. He can't run to the ball, so that it almost touches him and then leave it for Fernandes that is onside. All of those defenders have acted so to play Rashford offside, he has all but touched the ball, and as a result it should be given as offside because he has heavily interfered with the decision making of those defenders.
If he was over by the corner flag and this happens it is a different story but you can't say he hasn't interfered with play.

It’s not the performance, it’s the pissy attitude. Pathetic yellow cards which are an insult to his teammates, not tracking runners, “call me” gestures when transfer window was open, and him thinking he can pull rank on Patterson.
He was a spotty teenager 2 minutes ago and now he’s giving it the biggun, I’ve seen this dance many many times before, we like to think our home grown scousers are good grounded lads - Barkley never had the ego this lad has at such an age.

Hate to be proven right but I called out his change as soon as the season kicked off. He’s acting like a teenager who is in with the wrong crowd.  Shocking how poor he has become.

You just have to look at their chances and you can see what I mean.
Their looped chance - Coleman isn't aggressive enough and lets them bring it down. Godfrey gets really square on and gets beaten inside. JWP moves off Coady into acres of space, Tarkowski and Mykolenko both try and go out which leaves space for their man to get a shot off. Everyone is just so passive. No one is engaged and when they do, they are either beaten or its too late.
The chance just before half time - Literally a long ball upfield, Tarkowski is there but doesn't really challenge for it and then allows Adams to turn and pass the ball out when he should be all over him. Coady has to drop deep because he doesn't have the pace to stay that high up the field. Coady also has to cover for Godfrey who is really slow to react to his runner, Godfrey doesn't stop the pass and because Coady has covered for him and Tarkowski has taken himself out of the game, JWP gets a shot off.
1st goal - The gaps between the three CB's is too big. Again Coady doesn't have the pace to cover properly behind Tarkowski. The latter gets completely lost though, he doesn't know what is around him. He should be dropping back into the line to cover for Coady IMO because he is aware of the run of JWP. Gueye lets him go, but its 3 CB's v 2 attackers so I don't have a problem there, albeit Lampard did in his post-match conference. Coady should be a bit embarrassed though as he should at least be making some contact with Adams. He was never going to be winning the ball but he puts himself the wrong side of the goal and in a position that he is unable to impact the game. Godfrey is asleep again, then he gets beaten. He should never be going to ground in that position. If he stands up, he pushes JWP back into Tarkowski who was trying to recover. That small second, might have been enough to effect the outcome and at least give Pickford a better angle.
That is all you get to see on the highlights but time and again it happens. Tarkowski gets pulled out of position and doesn't win the ball. Coady's lack of physical strength and recovery pace is exposed so he has to drop deeper than he should and Godfrey is too dozy to do anything. The further upfield they play, the worse they are. For the love of god just camp them on our 18 yard box.

We're utterly fucked no matter who is in the dugout, so at this point I do not give a shit if he stays or goes.
We played with 5 at the back today and defensively we looked like conceding any time Southampton attacked, so good luck getting a manager in that will play backs to the wall football.
Our attacking players are fucking abysmal, so any manager wanting to attack will fail also.
We are shit. Just shit. And we're going down.

I dont think the players are great either but Lampard has made them worse and his signings are largely failing too.
I dont think Southamptons players are that great but you could see their plan to cut through us today and also against City.
You dont need to have great players to play competent football and you can see in his face that Lampard is in way over his head and he doesnt have a clue what to do.
Put the bloke out of his misery.

    I disagree.
Frank was given a lot of money over the summer, we brought in a decent number of players and a lot of people were fairly happy with the business that we did. Despite that this team has performed worse than they ever have done.
Under his management we recently have lost to Leicester (15th), Wolves (16th), Bournemouth (17th), Southampton (20th). We conceded 9 to those teams and scored 2.
We cannot add West Ham to that list, who from what I saw on MOTD, had enough chances to beat Wolves yesterday.
If Frank had a great CV to draw on maybe, I would be more inclined to agree but he doesn't. He has managed two clubs who were two of the best teams in their respective leagues and he didn't achieve anything with them.
There is nothing since Frank has been here that would warrant him keeping his job. We need to realistically be looking at who can keep us in the league, and if not, who can get us out of the Championship and has enjoyed some of that success in recent years where the technical and tactical side of the game has moved on significantly (i.e. not Steve Bruce!).
I am not sure how many managers that list includes but the immediate ones are Dyche, Nuno, Parker and Bielsa. I am sure there are more. Dyche is obvious having kept Burnley up on a shoestring. Nuno was the manager of a Wolves side that had players that were miles better than the Championship and his past managerial exploits aren't great. Parker is a massive twat by all accounts and Bielsa worked wonders with Leeds but I am not sure that type of football would work here. The risky option would be someone like Kompany who sounds like he went into a bit of a similar situation (fans/board protests) at Anderlecht and steadied the ship and has then gone on to transform Burnley. I very much doubt he would join us at this time though.

Well if the club was challenging around 6-8 in the league then it’s probably because there is a whole lot more going right at the club. As we are 14 points off 8th place after 18 games it’s obvious there a deeper issues.
What’s going on across the fan base isn’t just because we aren’t doing well this season, or last season, it’s just finally turning around a few people who believed the lies Kenwright has come out with over the years, so gained more support.
We could win the next three games and shoot up the league table, but the same problems are still there.
It’s more than three points on a Saturday afternoon for me.
