No. He’s a midfielder who can dominate, lose far too much by pushing him into a position he doesn’t play. Go up for set pieces etc but that’s it.

That's exactly what I thought when we pushed Fellaini up top. It'll be interesting to see what Dyche does for the derby. It could be a really big chance for Simms who I'd imagine is already in the mold of a striker who Dyche prefers. Hopefully he can take his chance if he plays. I do think Dyche will stick with Oana, Gana and Doucoure in midfield.

  2. I suppose if anyone can make a good player out of him it'll be Dyche. I don't think he will ever be a player that will be good enough to be a main creative option from open play, but he can add balance to the team under Dyche and remain a threat from set piece delivery.

  3. Not sure if anyone has already posted this but now did everyone feel about us seeing the game out? I wouldn't say I expected the three points but I felt a lot more confident than in recent months watching us manage the game. We looked in much more control than we have done.

Going back to Dyche's infamous "these lads don't know how to win a game"... Today we did look like that.

  4. After reading some of the posts on here, I'd bet good money that Iwobi will not be playing in a central midfield pairing, and we won't be playing a single pivot in midfield, it's not how Dyche sets up his team's.

He can't play all of Iwobi, Gray, Maupay, McNeil and DCL in the same starting XI. For me Maupay or McNeil has to make way and I think it'll be Maupay who misses out at least for this game, especially given how Arsenal set up with Partay and now maybe even Jorginho - 4411 makes sense to me for this one.

I'm not sure Dyche will be a big fan of the Gana Onana pairing in midfield either, but IMO I don't think he will find a better one. Onana for me will be a big player under Dyche, but I can't see Gana being replaced by Davies or Doucoure.

  5. I can't see how in the current state we are in Dyche refuses to play Gray who is the most likely to make something happen, especially when given space to run in to.

I'd much prefer to see Iwobi behind DCL, but given his work rate and better defensive ability when compared to Gray, I think it would make more sense to see him on the right, giving more of a balance to the team.

It's anybody's guess, but here's what I think Dyche will go for:

                        Pickford

    Coleman Coady Tarks Mykolenko/Holgate

          Iwobi Onana Gueye McNeil

                           Gray

                            DCL

It wouldn't surprise me to see Godfrey back at LB when he is fit. I think Dyche will prefer Coleman/Godfrey in the future or Holgate/Mykolenko. I can't see Patterson getting much game time.

I doubt very much we will get anything against a very strong Arsenal team, despite the new manager bounce. I'm more interested to see who Dyche chooses as his starting XI and I'm looking forward to seeing a much more direct philosophy.

Not something I'd normally say, but I'd absolutely take a point right now.

  6. All the clubs around us have strengthened. We've sold a first team player and failed to replace him. The only change we have made that can help us stay up is the manager.

We are absolutely going to get relegated bar an absolute miracle from Sean Dyche.

With the current state of the club and the current relationship with the fans, what on earth are the board thinking? I think the second half of this season is going to be the lowest point in Everton's modern history.

  7. Nothing but pure negligence from the club once more. Lampard should have been gone in December. Why on earth would they choose to sack him halfway through the January transfer window. Nobody wants to come to us because of that state of the club, and rightly so. Moshiri/kenwright have absolutely ruined this club and we will undoubtedly be playing in the championship next season. Fuck me, I'm not even sure what to think anymore. The board are lucky that the fans are likely never to boycott games. Really tough times ahead.

I don't. PC going too far. It's men playing, so it's man of the match.

And woman of the match in women's football. What difference does it make? Madness isn't it. Nothing against 'player' of the match. Just as long as people don't start correcting me when I label a man for being 'man' of the match. Let's call a spade a spade.

Apparently there’s a couple of things to still be sorted out so he hasn’t signed yet

You mean the development clause (with players from the academy)? I would hope we would say no to that kind of stuff.

If this is the case you'd have thought the club would have all this sorted before he stepped onto the training pitch.

The ball is now in his court to negotiate, as the last thing the board will want is to look even more incompetent in the case they can't reach an agreement.

It would be SO Everton if he turned us down at this stage.

  10. It's almost as if Newcastle haven't been watching him play this season. On top of that, why anyone would invest so much money into an individual with a stinking attitude is beyond me.

It's such a shame, if he had more of a driven and professional personality he could have been a very good player. Another Barkley in the making. We will see him at Newcastle, then somewhere like West Ham or Bournemouth, then he will be playing abroad somewhere when he will be all but forgotten about. And it's no less than he deserves.

He has personally ruined his career before it even begun.

  11. He's inevitably going to line this squad up as a 442/4411 on the pitch, which I'm not against. I'm curious about where Iwobi would play, whether that be in one of the two central spots, or out wide.

The obvious thought would be that in defence he will play Keane and Tarkowski together. That seems logical, but I think he could favour Coady with his range of passing.

I think Dyche is a wise choice for the position we are in, and his appointment could pay dividends in the long run. Not necessarily in the sense that he will take us to stardom, but he could be the catalyst for change that the squad can build on in future seasons. I'm hoping he can rebuild the foundations.

now don't get me wrong, I am not sure I believe everything he has to say - but this sort of communication it is a step in the right direction. Things like explaining how player transfers are now signed off on. We do need more transparency.

Its good other people might be sinking there money in to the club - they are not going to put up with the shit show that is currently going.

The blokes heart is in the right place, and no doubt that he wants great things for us. He just has a long way long way to go on the footballing side of things.

Good to here there is now a form to fill in for transfers. Can't do fuck all these days without a form :) . Not having this form may have be the problem.

I don't get the clamour for Dyche. Why do people think he could save us? He was relegated with Burnley, and on the way to doing it again when he got sacked. All at a team he built over many years. Hardly a a stellar candidate. Then again, no one any good would join us anyway, so a moot point  😂

IMO he did very well given his resources at Burnley.
