That goal there. That second one. That defines our football for the whole season. Putting ourselves under pressure from playing pointless balls backwards when forward passes are on and then 1 player trying to take it through midfield on their own. Embarrassing goal to concede at this level
Got to stop next season.

I've mentioned Maupay a couple of times on here and I understand why people dont fancy him.
The reason I wouldn't mind him is we need a striker who is comfortable knowing he isnt good enough as the starting number 9 but who will fight to get there. He's not a particularly nice striker for defenders to play against and offers a lot of energy. If a more experienced striker was avaliable over him in the mould of Giroud or Llorente I would be happy to also have that sort of player.

Thanks mate it looked plasticy on the first photo, glad to see they've binned it after the poor quality badge last season.

Theres only two players I'd really want from the relegated clubs, one being Pereira, who someone mentioned before and the other would be Mitrovic. I know he hasn’t had the best of seasons but IMO would be a great squad player for us. It is unlikely unless Fulham want to get rid as he still has a few years left on his deal and they would likely want to recoup close to what they paid for him.
As for those players towards the bottom of the table Bissoma is a nice little player and Maupay would also be a good bench player for us.
Saint-maximin would be a high profile one and cost a fortune but what a player he is. JWP also would improve our squad but again, at a high cost. However, surly the money from Moise Kean when he eventually leaves would help towards a high profile signing. Think I saw were looking to sell him for close to £40m.

Continho, Aarons and Zaha would be a good window for me

Can we all just agree that we collectively hate Delph and move on?
At least we've all got some common ground here.

What do you want him to do? Pick the ball up in our own half and dribble past 6 players?
Look at the state of the service today, absolutely fuck all. Probably should have had a goal but despite the distance it wasn't as easy as it looked to score, really no time to react at all.
Cash in on our leading goalscorer so we can have even less quality next year? Madness.

Well that concludes the season as a failure then. Now onto the next one where we are undoubtedly let down again.

His team ethic has been disgraceful this season. Playing for himself game after game. Shooting from tight angles instead of hitting it across the face of goal, holding onto the ball in hope of finding himself in a better position rather than playing someone through.
I'd really like Carlo to drop him these last two games as I believe that's the only was to get through to him. Nothing left to play for is there so we can't lose much.

Credit where due.
Liverpool, Arsenal and Spurs all went for it, and took it into their own hands. We had it, and simply bottled it again.
We just don’t have the quality.
Mentality for me not a quality issue. The games we're not picking many points up are the ones we expect to win to push for Europe. Palace, Brighton, Villa twice, now Sheffield United. As soon as the players realise theres something to play for they fall to pieces.
On the whole though this is the worst result and performance of the season.

Is that Michael Brown giving it the punditry? What a dirty fouling bastard of a player he was.
Switched stream as Martin Keown was on BT and I cant stand the man.

The problem we have is that when we're expected to contain the opponent for 90 minutes and nick a goal game after game, it comes to fixtures like this and the players dont know how to attack effectively.
The negative set up all season by carlo has really affected us mentally. I also understand the fact that half of our team is shite and that will be a factor, but all ancelotti has done is breed an underdog mentality.

This is embarrassing.

Not really arsed this stage of the season we've shown our ambition /level.
-
Personally I think Carlos reluctant to allow the team to express themselves. When being hard to beat and taking your chances works, it's a sign of building and solidity. When it doesn't work all the flaws in the team shine through.
I'm expecting players to have much more responsibility in dominating games next season, a new midfielder is absolutely essential.
-
At the end of last season Carlo did a press conference saying the team lacked desire and needed to come back with a different mindset.
Im still not sure this team has any more desire nearly 12 months on.
-
Zero creativity in midfield and zero chemistry between our two forwards. Like dunlopp said it looks so unlikely we will score from open play, especially if digne comes off at half time.
Is this what its going to be every time James is missing? I mean I know we lack a player of natural creative ability when hes not playing but it doesn't even look like the midfielders are even trying to be creative.

If i wasn't an Everton fan i would literally never choose to watch us play football.

It’ll be three at the back.
Or one of Coleman / Digne in midfield

Got the feeling we're only going to be more let down after this game.
Hope I'm wrong.

All over the place. What an awful awful team we have.
I hope Holgate, Sigurdsson and Davies all get sold this summer. Sigurdsson has been holding us back literally since the season we got him.
