If ever there was a game where we need to sit deep and try to get something on the break, this is it. Not the way I would like to see us play every week but we have to be pragmatic in this situation. I'd probably go 3-5-2 if we had a full squad to choose from but getting a 5 in midfield with our current injuries is nigh on impossible. So, 4-4-1-1 with both Gray and Richarlison having to track back and help out. Coleman and Digne don't venture too far forward and Townsend and Gordon provide the width.

                               Pickford

            Coleman  Keane  Godfrey  Digne

            Townsend  Allan  Delph  Gordon

                             Gray

                           Richarlison

    Spot on mate.

  2. He's not looked out of place since he's been starting, and has had some really good moments. Looks more mature in the way he is playing. I feel he is a little bit worried of making a mistake and sometimes lacks taking the game to the opposition. I'd like to see him try to play with a little more freedom, but I'm very happy with his recent displays, love it when a blue breaks through the academy.

  3. I think Holgate tries to come across as a bit of a hard man, which is completely unfitting for him. He's had a couple of decent spells of form since his arrival here and at one point looked as if he could develop into an important player for us. Unfortunately it's not quite worked out for him and I feel he is yet another player that doesn't have the right mentality to succeed for us. I think at the minute Mina and Keane are our best pairing at CB but Godfrey could develop into something special. I'd like to see us bring in a solid, experienced centre back. Something like Leicester did with Jonny Evans, or like we tried to do with Williams. We don't need anybody flashy in the current system. Someone to steady the ship.

  4. Honestly I like Tom Davies, but I can't see him cutting it for us. I still think he'd be a player who is able to play at this level, but not at the end of the table we want to be at. At 23 he's made 139 appearances for us, and hasn't improved. How long should be given to him to prove he is good enough? I'd imagine if he wasn't as influential in the dressing room as he is he might have been sold by now.

  5. Interestingly enough Digne is creating more Key Passes per match than last season at 1.9 (compared to 1.5). I agree he doesn't seem to be at his best this campaign, however DCL's omission through injury can't be helping him.

More to the point, the counter attacking style we have seen so far appears to be more reliant on our forwards creating chances. With such a quick turnaround from back to front it would be difficult for Digne to be in a possession to influence the play. This may be a reason he is being starved of creating chances, however that being said his all round play offensively and defensively hasn't been anywhere near as good as we have seen in the past.

  6. Wolves recent points come against those teams who are struggling in the league, so I hope we're not too mentally defeated already. Losing Doucoure is a huge blow, as he has been one of our stand out performers this season and possibly the most influential player in our squad at this moment in time. If Gomes is fit I'd like to see us try to match them in a 343, although this may not be possible with other injuries in the squad.

I can see us setting up in more or a 4411 again. I'm preying Richarlison is fit to start, to avoid having to watch Rondon try to play football again.
