I'm absolutely baffled by people that think he has pace. I don't think I've seen him race past anyone even once yet. In fact, against Brentford he tried the Kilbane and Coleman trick of smacking the ball miles ahead of him and past the opposition player and was easily beaten to reaching the ball first.

I wouldn't say he's slow but he's certainly not pacy.

Looks a quick lad to me when he opens his legs. Hasn't got a lightening turn of pace but when he strides he's quick

  2. Despite the issue of him being quite predictable I'd like to say he does look composed at times on the ball, his weight of pass seems quite good and his pace can cause some problems if he gets some space. I've felt in the past he sometimes liked to play it safe as he doesn't want to lose the ball, however he seems to be growing in confidence (or at least he did I'm not sure how he will react to the fans all telling the players to fuck off when they went over after the Brentford game - Gordon looked devastated and had to be ushered away by Coleman).

I've enjoyed seeing him have a run of games and will hope he develops. He has some natural quality that's for sure.

  3. It would help if the lad was playing football. He doesn't seem to get a game for the PL2 team and he sure as hell doesn't get a game for us outside of the early cup games.

He needs a loan, or take a chance on his development and put him ahead of Holgate in the pecking order and give him some minutes.

It's a shame, managers are terrified of giving youth a chance now days.

in fact, if we weren’t moving into the new stadium, I’d happily give up my season ticket and I’ve felt this for the past few seasons.

That's a sad statement, however I feel a lot of fans are getting to this level of disappointment the last few seasons.

I haven't been excited to watch us play in months, regardless of the opposition. I don't even get angry watching the game when we're bad now, like it's so expected all I can do is laugh and shrug my shoulders.

  5. So much flying around twitter suggesting Rafa is in big trouble. Evidently it's not going well for him. It baffles me the fans are blaming the manager. Look at the state of the squad, the dreadful investment over previous years, the current injuries. Rafa was brought in and given a kitty of £2m by all reckoning, what on earth was he supposed to do with that? The squad we have isn't strong enough to compete for a top 6 spot. What's any manager supposed to do with it, let alone Rafa? I'm at a loss for what direction the club needs to take if they do decide to sack him, a manager who shouldn't have been brought in in the first place. There are plenty that would jump at the chance to manage us, but none if any would be good enough. There doesn't seem to be any money to spend unless we offload some of our best players, who I wouldn't blame for wanting to leave. The only other option would be to bring a manger in to build a squad i.e a Graham Potter (who I doubt would want to come here unless we fill his pockets enough). The issue with this is that we seem to have a board who aren't capable of allowing the people they employ to do their job, they seem to think they know what's best for the club even if it is out of their expertise.

I'm afraid with clubs around us like Brentford, Brighton, West Ham, Leicester, Villa who all seem to be run far better than we do that there is only one way for us, and that's mid table mediocrity for the mid term future.

It's about time we start losing our ego and realising what state the club is actually in, and no manager or stadium is going to fix that anytime soon.

Do you think a less controversial manager with the current form would not be under pressure. We aren’t getting results and performances are poor too.

Not what so ever, I think almost every manager would be under pressure at almost any club for a run of poor results. What I'm saying is fans patience will wear low quicker with some managers than others. For example Carlo had way more backing from fans during the tougher runs.

Iwobi baffles me.  There was a couple of good shows from him, nothing amazing, just winning a 50/50 ball or a neat pass.  But they are nearly always followed up by him running out of ideas.  Best summed up when he ran 40 metres to close down their goalie and forced a poor clearance to our player in space in the opposition half.  In the meantime Iwobi had run out on to the left wing, a space already being filled by one of our players and left a gap in the middle, the space that he had vacated, as we were building a promising attack.  Then he just stood there blinking as the play developed around him.  I've no idea how he gets a game.

Useless player. We have a lot of those.

I know there is deeper routed problems. But baring in mind the next run of fixtures looking very unfavourable I can’t see us winning many before Xmas and so where does that leave Benitez

I guess that was one of the arguments for not appointing him. Fans patience will wear thin faster than most other managers we could have had.

  9. Not really looking forward to this one. I'm hoping Richarlison can cause havoc against Stones and Laporte to be honest. Hopefully he has a good game because it's going to be a long one for him.

The whole backline and Delph and Allan need to all be on song today. They've lost to Palace and WHU of late so the task isn't impossible. Either way, were going to need a huge amount of luck to get anything from the game.
