I might be wrong and he does get the bullet in the next couple of weeks from Moshiri to take the heat off him and appease the fans, but I very much doubt it because that means Moshiri will have to take full responsibility for what happens next he doesn’t have a right hand man anymore, I can’t begin to imagine what a complete fuck up it would be if he had to find and appoint another manager left to his own devices, to fucking scary to contemplate.

That being said it makes you wonder how many people on the board wanted Rafa. We are sure Moshiri certainly did, I wonder what the others at the club had to say about it.

I'd be happy to put  Duncan and Unsy in charge till the season ends, by then the board and the owner should have sorted the club out.  We just can't keep going on like this, fans are against him and players are falling out with him.  The club is in a mess and seriously needs sorting out.

I think the only thing we have left to try is Dunc. He did so well in charge last time however I understand why the club were sceptical to give him the role any longer than they did.  If Rafa went tomorrow my choice would be to put Dunc in charge and give it him for the rest of the season, then make the decision then. At least we will have someone in charge of the squad who actually cares about the club and hopefully that will rub off on the players.

Digne deserves the fact that he’s not playing, not because he had words with Rafa but because he’d gone to rat’s shit for so long and was getting away with it, his outspokenness meant Rafa had to find a different way and he has Godfrey who is starting to look far better than Digne.
He reportedly said he took Richarlison off because he had sustained In injury, whether this is true or not I’m sure will be made clear in the next day or so, but besides that Richarlison was pretty much non productive he was clearly not himself, and the manager has made a decision to change it because it wasn’t working and to be honest I think it had the desired effect with the 2 subs coming on. But I’m sorry no manager can legislate for the 2 big fuck up’s from Gray and Coleman, but they seem to be very quickly forgotten and all the blame for years of shit have been shoved all in the direction of one man, who’s not had a proper opportunity to change it, I know emotions are high and rage is blind, but sacking Benitez now would be very foolish, nobody would do much better but plenty would do a lot worse.

I wonder how many would admit to wishing they had taken the opportunity to get up and walk out for 5 minutes now, if we don’t get a decent budget for new players in January window your all be getting another opportunity very soon.

Oh I'm taking it from the general perspective of fans. Tension is high and fans are losing patience quickly. I can't see him being here next year. Not much has gone his way.

  3. Just watched an 'on the ball' focus of him on the Everton YouTube channel. He really did battle yesterday more than I've seen him do for a long time. What a performance. He also seemed more team oriented than in previous month's.

That goal meant the world to him and I think he really enjoyed it. But also hats off to Demari for the brilliant shot to set him up. He's really got a good range of shooting on him and shifts the ball beautifully.

but I don't think it works like you say if you have two or three teams that might be interested in player. It might work like that if you only have one team interested or if a player has his heart set on a particular club. No point in selling him cheap.

Benitez has simply made a strong stand with Digne -  nobody in the squad is undroppable. A bit of strong leadership, how refreshing. Benitex is the gaffer and he is behaving like one. Digne may as well get on board with that and just sort his defending out in the first instance.

If we'd have lost that game and Godfrey hadn't played well it would have been a different story and people's opinion of Rafa would have soured even more - it was a bold move and it did pay off. He not only dropped him he completely omitted him from the squad and embarrassed him. And you can almost guarantee if Digne feels the way he does about Rafa a lot of other players feel the same way.

I understand Digne's primary job should be defending, but let's face it that's not the reason he was brought to the club.

If Digne does leave, it won't be for a monumental fee.

  5. The problem with Gomes is his consistency. On his day he is a fantastic midfielder and in the mold of what we really need in that midfield. He's like Keane in some aspects though where if he doesn't get going from the start of the game, he completely loses his confidence and capitulates throughout the match, where nothing seems to go right.

I do agree that he does seem to look better coming off the bench and never really though as to why, but as has been said it must be the tired legs he's playing against.

There would be no reason to sell him cheap - if clubs think he would be available there would be plenty of takers for this 28 year old proven Premiership LB - I don't think we would have only one suitor who could drive the price down.  Don't get me wrong, I would prefer a on form Digne that a big fee, but form has been missing for a while.

Given the players we have that would bring in a decent fee - DCL, Richy, Doucoure, Godfrey or Pickford - In this line up Digne would be the one who I would maybe move on (subject to a replacement being in place). Having to sell good players is a bit of a sad reflection of where we are - but its just the way it is.

I don't think it works like that. His fee will be lower due to the reasons I mentioned in my previous post. If teams see he'd be available for say £20m, then they would possibly take him off our hands per se. If we slapped a £40m tag on him, teams would either persue another target or wait for his price to come down because we're going to have an unhappy player on our hands, who wants to leave (providing he does want to leave).

We also need to generate funds in order to spend money, which naturally would lower the value of most of our players.

Confidence amongst the players is already low so I’m pretty sure them seeing the stands empty out halfway through the first half would be very damaging

Hopefully they will realise that it's not really aimed at them. I don't think Moshiri has any respect for fans opinion and I believe protesting could be important for the future of the club.

The main example is Rafa. Moshiri completely disregarded the fans and went ahead hiring him, which was a completely stupid and I'd say disrespectful thing to do to the fans.
