The most pleasing part is that he is doing it consistently. He has become a very dependable player in whatever position he plays

RB, RWB, RM, RW, RF, CM, CAM, LM, LF. That's all the positions he played this season according to whoscored. I've got to say, I do prefer him in CM in a 3, which I never thought he'd suit.

  2. So Lampard arrived, tried to play fancy, it didn't work, to his credit he adapted and wasn't stubborn. It's not been easy, but I think we're all aware the squad he has at his disposal is very weak. What I will say is he has got a tune out of players who nobody else has yet. Iwobi has had his best spell by far in a blue shirt. Holgate looks to be improving. Delph has been a huge part of our relegation battle despite playing a hand full of games. Pickford has also had his best games this season under him.

I feel somewhat optimistic we are on the right track. The problem now lies in keeping Richarlison and to an extent DCL. I've read Dom isn't Lampard's preferred type of no. 9, but worry that if both of them leave we will struggle to replace their goals. I honestly see Richy leaving, DCL touch and go. Hopefully we can reinvest wisely for once. Iwobi, Dele and Gordon are going to need to be a big part of our squad next season.

Only listening to EFC commentary. Seems there are no guts out there and unfortunately I include Coleman who is fighting a losing battle without the troops around him. Are DCL and Richarlison really up for the fight probably knowing they are out after Sunday? Gordon has to grow up, throwing himself to the ground is immature and has he not learned from Richarlison that refs will ignore it?

Coleman is part of the problem. Richarlison along with Pickford has been our only real fight these past few games, so I won't question his attitude.

As you also said, this is a relegation battle and anything can happen. I am more confident of getting a result at Leicester or Arsenal than I am of us beating Watford, Palace or Brentford. It seems that there is something in our mindset that unleashes more of the player's potential when they are not expected (or expecting) to win.

Not so much Arsenal or Leicester as we've only won 1 away from home all year. But I agree with what you're saying. I'm looking at Brentford and Palace, 6 points from those two would keep us up.

  5. If, and it's a big if, Leeds lose tomorrow and we manage to pick up 3 points it would put us at a huge advantage. That being said I'd actually take a point tomorrow, I think the games that are essential for us are Watford (A), and the two home games against Brentford and Palace.

I don't want to speak too soon, but I honestly think it could be Leeds that go down this year. They've got to play Arsenal and Chelsea, as well as Brighton at home who have the 4th most points on the road, whilst Leeds have the 17th worst home record. If they full on capitulate they might not pick up anymore points for the rest of the season. However, this is a relegation battle and anything can happen.

I think we need 7 points in the next 5 games to stay up.

Did the rule change where if you put your hands on a players face, it's no longer a red? Cause Mane absolutely did that to Allan

Edit: just saw he did it to Holgate too?!

And the elbow on Coleman that somehow ended up a free kick to them and a ticking off for Coleman.

Both should have gone down holding their face, forcing VAR to look at it. That's the state of the game at the moment, if you don't go down looking for it nobody seems to review it.
