  1. My sentiments too Steve. As for his penalty stats, he didn't save a single one. Bloody useless if you ask me.
  2. Too many lads taking too much notice of the press. They don't know squat, and nor do the bookies. The only time we'll find out is after the board have made a decision and decided to make that decision public. As for Kenwright, there's nothing wrong with him being a little over dramatic. That's just the way he is. He's a passionate man, and a few of you seem to underestimate him regarding his business sense. You don't achieve what Kenwright has by being naive.
  3. Great stuff. Good to see you positive in the 'what are you looking forward to' thread. I half expected you to write 'The end of the world' or similar.
  4. It's not related, but just watched this clip of Cantonna and pissed myself at the end lol
  5. Martinez - As a player Real Zaragoza Copa del Rey (1): 1993–94 Wigan Athletic Football League Third Division (1): 1996–97 Football League Trophy (1): 1998–99 Swansea City Football League Trophy (1): 2005–06 As a manager Swansea City Football League One (1): 2007–08 Wigan Athletic FA Cup (1): 2012–13 Neville - as a player FA Premier League (6): 1995–96, 1996–97, 1998–99, 1999–2000, 2000–01, 2002–03 FA Cup (3): 1995–96, 1998–99, 2003–04 FA Community Shield (3): 1996, 1997, 2003 UEFA Champions League (1): 1998–99 Intercontinental Cup (1): 1999 Not bad considering he won sod all in 8 years with us lol. Knows the squad, knows the club, knows the Prem. I'm actually thinking he would be a good manager.
  6. Chris Waddle needed a hair cut. That's all I remember about him.
  7. Hi mate. Merry manager and a happy new Everton.
  8. Why would they want to play in the Championship with Martinez ?
  9. It's too much to be replying to everybody, so I'll gladly sit back and watch the plot thicken like everybody else, but I really don't get the Martinez love fest. Is he cute or something? Just be careful what you wish for.
  10. What an absolute crock of shite yet again. Perhaps Beckham became one of the worlds top players because he had nice hair ? Perhaps he was captain of England because he had the flashiest car ? The lad was the best passer of the ball, and dead ball specialist I've had the pleasure of watching. Yes, we all got fed up of the Beckham brand, but to suggest he was anything less than an ultimate professional, and fantastic leader on the pitch, is absolute bollocks.
  11. Better 1 nonsense thread than 4072 nonsense posts.
  12. Anybody thinking what I'm thinking ? Nah .............
  13. Our players are ok 'now' but even with the older lads, we still have a very small squad. It's important to look beyond next season, and put measures in place now, so that we are prepared. Even with Moyes here, we are still woefully short of players. We need added strength in midfield, and added strength up front, and we also have an ageing keeper, and an ageing defense. I think it is 100% certain that we will sell Fellaini, and possibly Baines too. This actually doesn't worry me, but it will be difficult to get great deals on players if the world knows we are cashing in. If we don't cash in, the older players will have little value as seasons pass, and we will be left with large gaps in the squad, and no money. It's actually a similar situation to when Moyes took over, only we're much better as a first eleven. I expect any plan will be to reduce the age of the squad over the next 2 seasons while we still have assets on the pitch, and it will be an opportunity for a new manager to create his own team.
  14. Tim Howard - 34 Tony Hibbert - 32 Phil Jagielka - 30 (will be 31 in Aug) Sylvain Distin - 35 Phil Nev - 35 (going) Thomas Hitz - 31 (probably going) Leon Osman - 32 - (Birthday tomorrow) Steven Pienaar - 31 With the exception of Hitz, these are first eleven players, so yes, the new manager will have a bit of a headache. We need to stop looking at our situation as 'present and start looking at it as 'future'.
  15. Because our foundations have just been severely tested and it's important to address them first before rebuilding. We have at least 6 players in their 30's now. At least 2 or 3 players likely to be targeted by other clubs while our guard is down, and a squad who's loyalty to Everton was possibly derived from their loyalty to Moyes. We are in need of investment, not just to win things, but to be able to stay at the same level long term, so it's very likely that players will be sold. For a decade, we have been 'the best of the rest' and gradually started to mix it at the top with the bigger sides, but being one of the finest teams, and having our foundations in place are not the same thing. We can't expect success building on shaky ground, so a little groundwork is required before we start thinking about top 4.
  16. BTW ... Regardless of what I think, Malky Mckay will probably get the job.
