  1. I'd agree he has played well in 'some' of the games. He's also gone missing in a lot too.
  2. I think we chatted about why he was a decent candidate about page 25 Pete. I don't think the result was tactical either. You don't plan to score 3 goals in 5 minutes. Everton were abysmal, not to take anything away from Wigans win. City have been our boot boys for some time now, so they weren't exactly the hardest final opponents either on current form, 2nd in the league or not. Compare our own route to the final and Moyes deserved a knighthood, nevermind a trophy.
  3. There is no point having hypothetical debates Haf, in terms of 'would manager x keep team x up etc. In terms of Neville, he would probably struggle as a manager in the lower leagues, but he knows the Prem inside out. He has spent his entire footballing career playing in it. He has had the insight of both Ferguson, and his staff, not to mention the opportunity to mix with players of incredible quality whilst at United, and then add to that the time spent at Everton, in a vastly different environment. He has experience of dealing with the Everton players, and also the Everton structure. He is already respected by the fans as a leader, and by the FA. He is also determined to become a manager, and is the perfect age to start. Martinez played for Wigan, and managed Swansea and Wigan. For me, Neville could buy and sell Martinez in terms of experience. You don't need to be the boss, to know what being the boss takes.
  4. A cup consists of a handful of games, not 38. Wigan only had to play 6 games to win the cup, and to be fair, it wasn't exactly the strongest opposition imaginable was it ? Wigan played Bournmouth, (drew 1st game 1-1, won 2nd 1-0), Macclesfield Town (won 1-0 with a penalty), Huddersfield Town (won 4-1), Everton (won 3-0), Millwall (won 2-0) City (won 1-0). I'm not sure the best way to debate is to ridicule other members opinions though mate.
  5. Talk about kicking folk when they're down. Add to the 'Why the world hates Americans' thread.
  6. Callum McManaman is still only 22, so there is a lot of development still to come, although he wouldn't be on the top of my list as new signings. I'm still against the idea of Martinez taking over. Anybody can win a cup. That's the beauty of cup competitions. We need a league manager, and overall I'm not convinced Martinez 'deserves' the job. Malky Mckay maybe, Pereira maybe, although I'm not sure he has even been in the genuine frame, and even Neville or Solskjær would sit ok with me, but can't help thinking Martinez is a bit of a desperate move.
  7. Hello Mrs Martinez and welcome to the forum.
  8. I don't think much of the Nike Brazilian kit. I remember when we were kids, and everybody wanted their kit. You don't get that now. I think this was the most famous of them all.
  9. Hart; Johnson, Cahill, Jagielka, Baines; Jones, Carrick; Walcott, Lampard, Milner; Rooney. Subs bench: Cole, Foster, Lescott, Rodwell, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Defoe, McCarthy. That's a selection that shows Hodgson is out of touch, and guided by the press. He really needs to look outside the top 6 sides more. It's desperate.
  10. I can't remember the last time I watched an England side so bad. I don't know what goes on in an England camp, but it sure as hell isn't working. They need to get shut of Roy Hodgson if they are to get anywhere near the England sides of old. If they were a Prem team they'd get relegated.
  11. I'd have taken him at Everton, as he knows the Prem, but he doesn't necessarily know much about lower league, so debateable. He's actually completed the A coaching course btw.
  12. I will be surprised if he doesn't ask for a transfer request. For me, he looked very dynamic and exiting, yet Moyes wasn't interested.
  13. Tony Barrett ‏@TonyBarretTimes 8m A statement from #LFC: Luis Suarez is not for sale - neither Luis or his representatives have communicated these feelings directly to LFC.
  14. £15m I just read lol. The guy has a decent run in Fantasy Football and now they want £15m? :dont know:
  15. Bergovic at Stoke. Only 25 (26 in June). Linked with a move to Liverpool.
  16. You're dwelling on football. :shaking fist:
  17. We have very sad lives when we get frustrated about football.
  18. They look ok, but we seem to be rather conservative in our design recently. Do we need to keep the colour blue? What about a nice shade of Toffee?
  19. Needed: A keeper to push Tim. I thought Mucha was undervalued by Moyes, but looked keen in his opportunity, and should have kept his place. Center Backs: Would like Ryan Shawcross (STK) or maybe Whinston Reid (WHU). Duffy is an option, but remains inexperienced at this level, so will need to be gradually introduced into the season, or loaned out as a sweetener for a transfer in, to get his experience. Midfield: I think we are desperate for a dominant midfield that can sort out the top teams defensively. Some deals could be found for James Mcarthy (WGN), Morgan Schneiderlin (SPTN), Claudio Yacob (WB) or maybe even a cheeky swoop for Ramires (CHE). Out wide, we're not too bad as long as we don't get injuries, but defensively, and especially if Fellaini goes, we are weak. Striker wise, we could use one more dynamic striker, such as Benteke (AV) or Lukaku (CHE) but I think they will be in the spotlight come summer, and we might not get a good deal.
