  1. I was aware of Weiss from the City fans during my time on their forum years ago, and back then, he was their brightest talent in an excellent youth system. As for the others, they're just nicking my ideas. (I didn't write that article, honestly lol)
  2. I agree on the relegation thing, but I'm not sure we can afford a top quality striker and still be able to address everything else. Hence why I'd be looking at the Championship strikers in the hope they are the next Van Persie.
  3. I've read it matey. It's absolute tosh. "Sold to fans on their way to the match"? lol. She opened her shop over 100 years before either stadium were built. I read this, but I was hoping for a little more: http://www.old-merseytimes.co.uk/mollybushell.html
  4. We need players who are willing to sit on a bench, as well as first 11. We can't afford a squad of quality starters, so adding to our numbers with these type players is an option. Hitz was a good example. Cost nothing, sat as back up if needed as a squad player. If we get injuries to key players it can kill our season, so having decent players to make the numbers up is worthwhile. Blake played for a relegation fodder side in the Prem, but still scored more goals in his 3 seasons than Anichebe or Jelavic did. In the Championship, he scored 35 in the year that caught my eye. He wouldn't need big wages, and would be an ideal squad striker.
  5. I wouldn't want a butt of a guy who heads balls for a living lol. Strictly speaking, only Ryan knows how much it hurt. My point was that he just got on with the game afterwards. He's entitled to go to ground like all players do if butted, but it was hardly a Kyle Lafferty scenario to be fair to him. Edit: It's also in slow-mo on that vid. In real life it was a lot quicker. A knock in the temple or eye socket etc will put anybody down.
  6. I thought about Malouda, but both his age, and that of Arshavin put me off. 3 seasons ago, Malouda was hot, but not done too much since. Arshavin was a bad buy for Arsenal and never really hit form.
  7. He should possibly try to just keep it simple, and try to stay on the field without making mistakes, like silly tackles, or losing the ball. Losing the ball in attack is much more dangerous than not having possession, as it catches everybody out.
  8. If we give a freebie a contract, why not consider Danny Simpson, who is 4 years younger than Alcaraz? As long as he stayed away from that X Factor bimbo he might get his form.
  9. Blake has always been in the corner of my eye since his Championship season before he came to the Prem. Cole is only 29, and Simpson looked decent in Newcastles big year.
  10. I think it's best for fans to take their focus off Barkley if we want the best from him. There is far too much expectancy, and he should be allowed to progress at his own pace.
  11. It looked like a butt to me lol. He is a big strong lad, young, experienced, and a good replacement for Distin.
  12. Kevin Doyle? Sylvain Ebanks Blake? http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/spieler/vertragsende/basics_GB2_2013.html
  13. Who is free, who is worth signing? Danny Simpson maybe? Carlton Cole ? http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/spieler/vertragsende/basics_GB1.html
  14. I love the way he just got up and got on with it after being butted.
  15. I'd like Shawcross if we were able to do a deal. Possibly a swap for Heitinga plus a few quid.
  16. I've been creating an article on this subject, but wondered if there is a definitive version of events, as there is a lot of nonsense out there (on Everton sites too) which simply doesn't add up. Bushell had a shop adjacent to the tower, but I'm figuring it wasn't her first shop, as I have an old picture of another, nearer to the cross / sundial of the old village. Nobletts had shops everywhere, and Bushells grandson 'Wignalls' also had one on London rd too. Bushell certainly didn't go to Goodison as the first Toffee lady as many report, as she was long dead before either Anfield or Goodison were built etc. Far too much nonsense out there, so wondered if anybody had discovered an actual version of events that was a trusted source of info, rather than myth.
  17. Set in stone: Howard - has cover in Mucha Coleman - has cover in Hibbert and Jags Jags - needs more cover Baines - has cover in Oviedo Fellaini - no cover Gibson - no cover Pienaar - no cover (poss Oviedo) Mirallas - cover in Osman For me, Hibbert, Heitinga, Distin, Osman, Anichebe, Jelavic etc are not guaranteed their places anymore, either because of age of inconsistency. I think Bill was naïve to publically say he was going to give Martinez money if we don't already have targets in place. It's possible we 'do' already have some deals on the table already done though. I think the money available in the January window was probably put on hold for the new manager, knowing Moyes was off.
  18. Laughing about the stance regarding slating the reds. I've heard them called far worse lol.
  19. I thought I'd do a little artwork to celebrate. What do you think? It's kind of a 'Blue underneath' kind of idea. I've used it for the profile page on my site.
