  1. It was a close call. I had to employ lots of leg wobble and come off my line.
  2. Luckily, I always have a back up plan, for cases of forum emergency, and need to point out to you all that in order to travel to Europe without a very large fuel bill, we must pass through the south, and obviously it was then, that we shall wave. Phew ... glad to have put you all straight on this.
  3. Dear Arsenal, we'll wave on our way past as we enter Europe once again. All the best, and look after Mickey.
  4. Out on penalties - yet good enough to win it. How many players are missing from that team? We'll see that again soon. Believe brother blues.
  5. Fu's brother. He sneaks around in the dark in his ninja suit, prowling forums for unsuspecting trolls.
  6. Moyes is the manager. I'm sure Bill will allow you to apply when Dave has gone, and if Vic is still there, you'll be able to make him your bitch when it happens. Vic has put some good performances in over the years, and folk forget that he has had to come up through the ranks, as a 'junior' so to speak, and ply his trade in a bit part roll. I think he needs a full season in his preferred role in order to reach potential, but it's difficult to get that at Everton, unless he goes out on loan. Not sure being the picture on the fans dartboard is going to help his cause much.
  7. Kinell, the off topic twins are in da house again.
  8. There are quite a few more complications involved with that mate. Might be best to change the subject now, and try and focus on the positives.
  9. No, you're wrong. For Madrid to sell Drenthe, Drenthe must agree. Drenthe is probably seeing out his contract, so Madrid have loaned him out, in order to get him out of the way, or offload his wages, or what ever the reason is. We can't sign him permanently, because he is still Madrids property. In 6 months of his Madrid contract ending, he can sign a pre-contract with us, which is not legally binding that I'm aware of, should he want to.
  10. HB, you are aware that the guy belongs to another club aren't you? He isn't a free agent.
  11. You seem to want this guy on a 2 year contract. How exactly can that have happened? I can let you watch my Virgin tv for a year, but after that, I have no contract with Virgin, so can't possibly allow you to watch it for 2 years. Madrid can't possibly loan us this guy for 2 years.
  12. How can we sign him on a 2 year contract mate? We would have to buy him, and release him from Madrid's contract, in order to do that. Madrid don't have 2 years to negotiate. Only 1.
  13. We can't sign him on a 2 year contact, because he is contracted to another club for 1 year, and that club has let us have him for the remainder of the contract. Only when he is released from that contract can we talk to him, or he can sign a pre-contract if he is in the last 6 months of his contract as far as I'm aware, just like Beckford did.
  14. HB, I'm pretty fair minded, but I'm starting to wonder if you thrive on controversy. It's your good self that needs to think about what you write. Let me put it clearly: We have employed the guy for 1 seasons worth of football. We won't get anything at the end of it, and nor should we, because we're not paying for anything at the end of it. After 1 season, he has done his job, and is free to do what he wants. If we want further services, we then have to attract him like any other club, and sit down to discuss. He isn't expected to do us special favours, or show us loyalty, or even like us. One season only - that's it.
  15. Why would Moyes leave? He has one of the best jobs in the business, and the biggest alibi in top level world football should he fail. I wish I had his job.
  16. As opposed to not playing at all? At the end of the day, he's here to play for us for 1 season. He's not contracted for 13 months, or 5 years, but 1 season. If he plays his ass off, and gets the recognition he deserves in return, he will then have the same opportunity that every other player has, contract or no contract. Everton will have benefited from his performances. We haven't hired him to play crap. If he wants to stay, great. If he doesn't play his ass off, he wouldn't be asked to stay anyway. It's time to stop with all this silly doom mongering, regardless of it's origin. It's plain silly.
  17. The guy was the top scorer in the Argie equivalent of the Premiership. Judge him once he's had a season with us.
  18. I read someone else say that, and still not sure what it means.
  19. I was thinking how miserable he looked, but to be fair, some guys don't like smiling, or think it spoils their image. Look at Grahame Sharp for an example of this. I'm sure if he didn't want to come here he wouldn't have.
  20. I agree with most of this. I would have preferred Beckford to stay, as I can't help thinking we didn't give him the chance, but he's gone now, so now our thoughts move on. Good luck to the lads that left, and good luck to the lads that have joined.
  21. Arteta in a red shirt might be a totally different animal than Arteta in a blue shirt. We've had the International debate, but it's up to Mickey to find his feet and impress. That's all he can do. Many of the so called Galactico's might not be so galactic had they played for us, so time will tell. It's easier to look good playing for Barcelona than it is for Everton. I'd be interested to see how Xavi would get on playing for Stoke.
