  1. Ah, ok mate. If that's the way it is, then that's the way it is I guess.
  2. Anyone who pays 34m for Mofro can have him for me without a seconds pause. I like the guy, and defended him vehemently during his first season, but he hasn't done any where near enough to command that price in my opinion.
  3. Everything looks normal to me mate. As stated, the only reason that Pete had <p>'s in his post was that he'd copied them and pasted them. It's 100% not a forum issue though.
  4. These are some customers of mine. I thought it was good enough to share: http://marchingbackward.com/
  5. Why would you hope a team like Barcelona win? Are you from Barcelona? For me, they're just another cash rich club who buy success. I'd rather they got beat 8-0 every match if I'm honest.
  6. A good start might be to post a few so we can see the result.
  7. Don't you ever watch a World Cup game, or Champions League game, and enjoy the match, with perhaps even a slight support for the competing team?
  8. It's cool man. I think there is a little communication lost in translation somewhere along the line lol.
  9. Beatties agent " Davie, Just wanted you to know that James is available". Moyes " Have you been on holiday this year? I was thinking about fly drive".
  10. He's 31 on Monday. That's not over the hill for a defender. We need to remember that we have a very small squad. The key word to any success is 'squad' rather than 'individual'. Younger players rarely break through into our defence.
  11. This spread sheet is interesting too: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Akh8t7U1Ir8idHN5UndNUlFWeG1XQkNkWDRvM19aT2c&hl=en#gid=0
  12. Do you know how many football clubs have entered administration? Charlton 1984 Middlesbrough 1986 Tranmere 1987 Newport County 1989 Walsall 1990 Northampton 1992 Kettering 1992 Aldershot 1992 Maidstone 1992 Hartlepool 1994 Barnet 1994 Exeter 1994, 2003 Gillingham 1995 Doncaster 1997 Millwall 1997 Bournemouth 1997, 2008 Darlington 1997, 2009 Chester 1998, 2009 Hereford 1998 Portsmouth 1999, 2010 Crystal Palace 1999, 2010 Oxford Utd 1999 Barrow 1999 Swindon 2000, 2002 Scarborough 2000 Hull 2001 QPR 2001 Chesterfield 2001 Leicester 2002 Barnsley 2002 Carlisle 2002 Notts County 2002 Bury 2002 Bradford 2002 Port Vale 2002 Lincoln City 2002 Swansea City 2002 York 2002 Halifax Town 2002, 2008 Derby 2003 Ipswich 2003 Huddersfield 2003 Oldham 2003 MK Dons 2003 Wimbledon 2003 Wrexham 2004 Cambridge 2005 Crawley Town 2006 Rotherham 2006, 2008 Leeds United 2007 Boston United 2007 Southampton 2008 Luton 2008 Stockport 2009 Salisbury 2009 The list is over 12 months old, so it's possible other clubs may now be on it.
  13. I'm not 100% sure what problem you are describing, but there are certain things you need on your pc in order to have a good Internet experience. The first thing I'd do is update your Adobe flash. http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/
  14. For Lex. How many Everton fans will know that Everton football clubs nickname was originally “The Black Watch” ? Well it goes way back to when the football club was formed, in those days shirt colours were not very well regulated and all sorts of colours were worn. In order to solve this problem Everton decided to dye their football shirts black with a red diagonal stripe to add a bit of colour. The resultant shirt was similar to the Black Watch uniform of the Highland Regiment so their first nickname was born. Everton of course eventually changed to a royal blue football kit and an obvious nickname followed – The Blues, they are still known as this but their most commonly accepted nickname is The Toffees. We've shown below a couple of cigarette cards that depict the football clubs accepted "Toffees" nickname in caricature form. The one above is from a series of football cigarette cards issued by Sweetule products in 1959, the text on the back of which reads; "The Toffees. This name is derived from the Everton toffee which was originally made by Mrs Noblett from a shop in the district of Everton. She was adopted as the mascot in the early days and is to-day regarded as a symbol of the Everton team" Despite the above there are still several explanations exist why the Toffees nickname came to be, firstly it could be because there was a house called Ye Anciente Everton Toffee House near the Queen's Head hotel in which the club originally held meetings. In fact the shop above was actually referenced on the cigarette card below which was issued by Ogdens. The text on the back of the card read; "This famous club started in 1878 as St Domingo, the name being changed to Everton the following year. as the principal landmark of Everton village was "Ye Ancient Toffee House", it was not long before the sobriquet The Toffees was attached to the club. Adversity has not often came their way, but in 1929-30 they suffered relegation for the first and only time. By winning the 2nd Division in 1930-31, the First Division in 1931-32 and the FA Cup in 1932-33, they created a remarkable record. the first League Championship has been won four times in all and the FA Cup twice." Another theory is that “Toffee” was also a slang reference for an Irishman, a large population of whom lived in the city at the turn of the century, supposedly these “Toffees” tended to favour Everton as their football team. However, and added credence to by the cigarette cards is that the Toffees nickname came about because an lady called Old Ma Bushell used to sell large amounts of toffees on match days near Evertons old grounds, (Stanley Park, Priory Rd and Anfield!) however when they then moved to Goodison a toffee seller closer to the ground (Mother Nobletts) began getting all the business. This resulted in Ma Bushell gaining permission from the club to sell her Toffees inside the ground, hence the Toffees nickname and hence the tradition that still exists of a young girl dressed up in old fashioned clothes giving away Toffees on match days. The cartoon above is Paninis take on the Everton football nickname, this character was part of the Panini 86 sticker series. This sticker can be purchased on our Footybits site where it has been mounted in a clear fridge magnet.
  15. Well, he could prove good cover for Baines, and that's a fact. Looking forward to seeing if Moyes plays him against Villa.
  16. I thought this page would be rocking, after getting a player from Real Madrid. Why did Moyes choose this guy? Could it be because he is a possible replacement for Baines? There ... that should ruffle a few feathers lol.
  17. Hands up how many have an interest in how he gets on at Arsenal, and to see if he truly can reach greatness there?
  18. Pre-season on forums is always nothing but arguments. The last few days of the transfer window always serves to augment everybody's frustrations. Having a break during this time is a good idea.
  19. Exactly what will they be protesting about? The club having no money? - yeah, that could work. If the club need money, tell it to get a job. Seriously though, protesting won't change our bank balance. Kenwright out? - yeah, that could work too. Why not tell the captain of the aeroplane to press the eject button? Have they noticed we don't have any one else to fly the plane? Has recent events helped the club? No, it hasn't. Will a protest help the club? No, it won't. Change what you can't accept, and accept what you can't change. During these difficult times, the club would benefit better by fans showing continued support, and possibly helping to sell the club by positive means, rather than negative. Who wants to buy a struggling club, in the height of a recession, in a money losing business, and inherit a load of demanding insensitive fans in the package? Rather than have Kenwright out' banners, why not raise banners that will attract potential investors? If you ask me, there's simply not enough naked cheerleaders at half time.
  20. Sorry Pete. Look at the <p> as cement between bricks, separating each brick, and the bricks as sentences. When you write on the forum, or in a mail, using your keyboard, if you want to leave gaps in between the text, you simply press the enter button on your keyboard with the arrow on it, and your paragraph or sentence is moved down, thus creating a bigger gap between the two. That's what the <p> does. On a webpage, unless you placed the <p> sign in between the paragraphs, they would just close up again. The sign that has a <p/> ends the command, just like we have image tags which also have img and /img and you put what you write in between. They are used when writing code. Code is needed to create websites, and is like a language. When you have copied text, you have also copied the code within the text, and that is why you get the <p> signs in your posts. The reason they work on the website you got them from, but not here, is that code has to be allowed, by the admin, and here, it isn't, so it doesn't work. When code works, it becomes invisible, and does it's job, which is why you didn't see it on the site you copied. When it doesn't work, or rather isn't allowed, it stays in view. It's probably difficult to understand if you've never worked with code, and I'm rusty having not used it for years, but that's why it's in your post. If you want to see it being used, right click on any webpage, and press 'view source' if using Internet explorer, or if using Chrome, right click and press 'inspect element'.
  21. If they only name 18, are they the only 18 that can play?
  22. I thought it was someone who drew streets. Have you asked Lowry Tenaciousj?
  23. The <p> is HTML for creating space. It will be used on many websites by admins using HTML to create their webpage. Sometimes when you copy something, you copy the source code too. It's nothing at your end, but more a case of which sites you frequent in order to obtain your information. You only see it because the HTML tags won't work unless Louis allows it, or certain ones, and that is risky and unadvised unless you want me to hack your forum and take over the world.
