  1. I've ner played this game, and don't quite get it. What exactly is it? Do you play like fifa, or is it like Fantasy football? Can someone explain the game?
  2. What have we seen of Vellios? What has Moyes seen of Vellios? I like the lad, and every game I'm crying out to give him a go, but that isn't based upon anything other than the few times I've seen him. Moyes sees him every day. I'm sure Moyes feels he is nearly ready, and might have to give him a bigger go soon, but he is unproven. The same can be said for Gueye and our other lads. Moyes trains them every day. Saha will get injured soon if history repeats itself, and we will have no senior strikers. We know little about the Argentinian lad, but we know a lot about Faddy. Having all our options fit still gives us a small squad. It's not like we're at the beginning of the season. The window opens again in just over 10 weeks. I didn't see too many crying when we used Landon Donovan for a 10 week spell, or Lucas Neill. We have to start trusting in Moyes. If we can't do this then why have him?
  3. If you'd never heard of him before, exactly which bit of his game in the matches so far this year would make you want to pay £50m for him? We had this with Rodwell too. He has already been 'bigged up'. He can't be bigged up any more unless he actually gets on the pitch, and displays his talent to the world, and so far all we've seen is glimpses of potential. It's easy to get excited, but only if you are an Evertonian. It will be difficult for him if he signs for us. We are a struggling club, that unless something changes, won't be able to offer him the spotlight in order to shine, unless he will be content to play for a team getting battered every week. Rooney made a wise choice going to United, and the way things are at the moment, Barkley would be nuts to sign a 5 year deal in December.
  4. Watching a live band is totally different to what I meant. I'm talking about the birth of MTV and similar programmes, that changed the music business from being focused on 'audio' and made it focus on 'video'. This in turn meant that music producers were much more interested in 'image' and 'sex appeal' rather than whether the artist could sing or not. They can fix voices in the studio. Louis Walsh is not after a 'live' artist. He is after a 'recording' artist. This means he is looking for someone he can sell 'visually' rather than 'audio'. Half these acts could not do a gig, and that's being kind, presuming 'any' of them could. They are practising every week to sing 'one' song. They have 'zero chance' of ever becoming a live artist, as to be a live artist, you need to be able to cut it. Walsh will make them sound amazing in the studio, and sell the concept to a young gullible audience. Liona Lewis is a good singer, but she's not in the same class as the top female singers like Streisand. She's just a pretty face with a decent voice, and a great engineering team behind her. Do you think Americans are any less gullible than Brits? Lewis does well because the record companies have put her in the spot light and the record companies dictate the radio, commercial Internet, and tv. It's no fluke. It's what Simon Cowell does. Barlow will write some cheesy song for the winner of X-Factor, and they'll sell a few records. I'm fairly sure we won't be discussing any artists that were born via X-Factor or Pop Idol in 50 years time.
  5. Why do some of you guys think that just because we have brought in Mcfadden that our other players won't get a chance? If the other players were ready for 90 minutes they would have played for 90 minutes. Moyes isn't stupid. It's not Moyes that is the problem. He is still the clever manager that took us to the top end of the table. We don't know the full in's and out's of why Moyes made the decision. I'm inclined to believe it's because he knows Faddy and can use him. It's time to let Everton Football Club worry about his wages, not us. A team with Faddy in it is surely better than a team without him. Once again, it is about the squad. Not, about any single player. We did a similar thing with Lucas Neil. Faddy is a much better acquisition as Moyes already knows him, and Faddy already knows Moyes. He's still only 28, and he's not the worst player in the world. We have worse players on our books than Faddy. I don't get all the moaning. Everton 'with' J Mcfadden v Everton 'without' J Mcfadden? It's a no brainer.
  6. He's not been getting forward much at all this season by his own standards and he was also at fault for the City goals amongst others. It strikes me as though some of our players have lost interest, and are simply going through the motions. We can't afford to become complacent. The league is a lot harder this year than it's been for some time, with teams very capable of beating us if we don't work harder. Everton used to be a boring football team that scored from set pieces. We then started to play attractive football, and no longer needed the big men. Now we have sold our most creative players, yet no longer have the set piece threat, so we are floating in space with no ideas waiting for something to save us. It won't happen. We need to get ruthless, and if that means dropping our best players (on paper) then so be it.
  7. Can we really expect bigger figures than £20m to be touted about the press when he's only played in a few matches?
  8. Nothing to do with you Matt, but I think it might be wise for everybody involved to join their respective opposing club websites at the start of the season. Future match reps might want to get their registrations done now, if they haven't already.
  9. Disgusting. I also find it a little ironic that a forum like Blue Kipper make the following statement: "There really are some low life about."
  10. Sport is a dirty word mate. Look back over history to see what 'sport' derived from. Entertainment is a much dirtier word, especially when the 2 worlds are combined. Football is a game, and should be kept as a game.
  11. The Premiership itself was nothing more than a group of select clubs taking all the money, so it doesn't surprise me the same clubs would want to protect themselves from not having it any more. Football is a joke off the pitch, and soon it will become a joke on it too if action isn't taken to stop the money men from ruining the game.
  12. Haf mate, we both know the day you are positive about anything I'll faint, so it doesn't surprise me to see you disgruntled yet again lol.
  13. I'm a musician of 30 years. I've seen quite a bit of talented folk during that time as I'm sure many here have. If the X-Factor was about talent, it would not survive. It's about entertainment, and unfortunately it's entertainment governed by folk with as much taste in music as a rain sodden dog turd. Music should be listened to, not watched. Ears, not eyes. Put X-Factor on the radio, and see how well it does. When genuine talent is compared to anything that has ever come from the X-Factor, the difference is there for all to see. Please show me a single X-Factor contestant that could sing on the same stage as Barbra Streisand for example, or even a singer such as Tom Jones, without looking daft? Talent my ass.
  14. The problem is, when women get it, we're knackered Bill.
  15. Men play pc. Children play console.
  16. The lad has come here on a free. Losing Beckford, or any other player is irrelevant to signing Mcfadden. We are skint, and have a squad that is not big enough to ensure our Premiership survival should we suffer injuries. The transfer window is closed until January, which means we can't sign anybody else until then. Mcfadden joining us strengthens our squad. This is the only fact we need concern ourselves about. He hasn't joined to be our number one striker. He is simply part of our squad, and our squad is now stronger by one player. All the negatives being passed around are pointless. How can any fan be unhappy about him joining for free? Put your brains in to gear, and stop confusing the issue. Moyes didn't have a choice between signing Mcfadden or Messi, and chose Mcfadden. He had a choice between saying yes or no to a free player, and quite rightly said yes. Even if you think he isn't good enough, it is irrelevant. He was free, and our squad is now stronger because of him signing. I swear some of you don't look beyond your noses through crying about everything you have no control of. Feel free to continue to be negative, and dampen your spirits further, or grow the fuck up and see the positives.
  17. Joke of a programme, with a concoction of karaoke standard pretty faces being judged by folk with awful taste in music who are set on manipulating the market with anything for a dollar. Meanwhile professional talent struggles to get gigs because the pubs only want karaoke. Folk are so gullible to be sucked in.
  18. I think Baines has been poor all season, and if we had another left back (Drenthe?) I'd drop him as a warning without a moments notice. I sold him from my fantasy team last week. Needs to pull his socks up, as do quite a few of our team at the moment.
  19. I wasn't going to bother posting for a while, as I've not felt enthusiastic about anything football related for weeks, but this is an interesting one. It's important to look on the bright side here, rather than look for negatives. Mcfadden is a hard worker, and knows the Everton set up. We haven't sold a player in order to bring him in. He is here totally as a bonus, and for a club that has zero money to spend, it's great business. Vellios will still get his chances, like every other player, but you have to look at the size of our squad. If we get injuries we've had it. The fact Vellios and Barkley etc are getting a game is because we are so thin on the ground. Football is about a squad. Faddy is another of those players that has been unlucky with injuries. When we sold him, we were all shocked if we're honest, as he was well liked at Everton, but we made £4m profit on that deal, and 3 years later, the guy is still only 28 years old, and scored what I think was one of the best goals I've seen while he was with us. He's no waste of space. He is a blood and guts player, and won't cost us much. It's a win win situation for both parties, and wish him all the best. Come January, Moyes can look at the situation, but we aren't exactly in a position to be fussy at the moment, and there are many decent sides that would welcome him, and for us to get him is quite lucky if we're honest. Anyone who says he is shite is talking through their arse. He's a great squad player to have, and could be just the kick up the ass the team needs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8V-0tEM-SR0
