  1. If he's only as good as Rooney was for us, we don't need him. In 2 years Rooney bagged 12 goals unless I'm mistaken.
  2. I think the Hargreaves saga is another example, but we're not giving Moyes, his physio, or Cahill much credit for intelligence if we don't trust them to make correct decisions.
  3. I still think he is one of the top managers in the world, despite his recent job history. His record is outstanding.
  4. I think you're spot on with most things, despite my occasional pop at you, so hold firm your beliefs and stick with them. I argue with Matt and Steve all day long, but I agree with them on many other things. It's good to have opposite views.
  5. We appreciate that you are an overseas fan Matt, and it's impossible to categorize people, but I'm fairly sure that unless our South African friend lived in the North West, before recently emigrating to Africa, that he won't hold the same feelings as the lad that sits in class with red and blue, then works with red and blue, and so on. I was a fan of Michael Jackson (for example) but I bet those close to him shed more tears when he passed. There is a culture that is impossible to experience unless you experience it first hand.
  6. Do you visit GOT a lot, or post on GOT? It's full of lads from America. Even the admins and mods have American representatives. Our fan base is growing, but there will always be a different passion, when you look at the local lad, and surrounding areas, who grew up with the club, surrounded by like minded people, living in a twin football club city culture, and a guy who lives 7000 miles away, who discovered Everton because Landon Donovan spent a few months here. It's all variations upon a theme. Football is just a game, and because it's a game, people all around the world can enjoy it. On GOT though, the biggest whiners are 'always' guys who have never even stepped in to the country, let alone the ground. Watch it by all means from USA, Africa, or anywhere else, but when they attempt to influence other fans with negative articles, that's when they need to take a rain check.
  7. I'm just pulling your chain Matt, knowing you live abroad lol.
  8. That's the problem Matt. David Moyes is paid to pick the team. It's 'his' opinion Kenwright pays for. Not ours mate. I'd gladly sell Cahill, but you can guarantee he'll bang 10 goals in as soon as I say that.
  9. Here's a question for him. Why is it that lads called Benoni from South Africa can't support an African sport, and quit moaning about Everton? I swear we're turning into Liverpool.
  10. Bailey, I'm just going to agree to disagree with you in this thread mate. I'm not going to fall out with folk over a debate about whether Moyes is up to the job. We all see things in different ways. Every thread on a forum is different. We agree on loads of stuff, and disagree on loads of stuff. All part of the fun mate. As long as lads express themselves respectfully I'm always a fan of debate. The only time I ever shake my head is when folk can't debate without getting personal, or arguing. That's when it all falls to pieces. Disagree away.
  11. If Moyes plays him, then he's fit enough Matt. We have to start trusting Moyes judgement a little more. *Footballer plays with sore ankle shocker. Does it make fans feel better looking for more reasons to be unhappy? I think Jags might be best advised to quit talking to newspapers (if he has been) and concentrate on playing football.
  12. Since when do we believe everything we read in the press? Besides, Cahill came on as a late sub for Heitinga didn't he?
  13. And if we lose all 5, then what Pris? Will you sack him and get somebody else in?
  14. We start badly because our engine only goes from 0-60 in 25 seconds, while the better teams drive V8 muscle cars. We often catch a few up because our mechanic is better, in turn making our engine more reliable.
  15. Correct. It's great to see Everton lads get noticed, but it's so topsy turvy. When they are at the top of their game, they get overlooked in favour of regular 'brand name' players, yet play like a frog glued to an ironing board and it's instant call up. I think fans should be able to vote the England team.
  16. How on earth can Glen Johnson be in the squad, and Micah Richards, who has been superb, overlooked? Also how can Jags get in ahead of the Newcastle lads? This type of bullshit selection really pisses me off.
  17. Moyes getting the job is only a side step. My main focus for debate is regarding City, and whether Ferguson could stomach being a runner up to them every year etc. If City win the league, and he retires, City will claim they caused it, which would not sit well with United fans. Is he trapped between a rock and a hard place?
  18. I think we see things from the same side of the river mate. Some lads have far too high an expectation of our team, and don't credit the opposition enough. They are asking kids to come in far too early, based on a few appearances, regardless of whether it is all too much for them too soon. Since Moyes took over, we have been classed as 'over achievers' and rightfully so. The problem is that he has been so successful, that fans now consider it to be the norm, and can't get their heads around the fact that he can't keep pulling rabbits out of hats, year after year. Not only does he have no money to spend, but he has also lost wonderful players, yet some fans think we just play a young kid, and it's business as usual. A little realism is in order. It might even get worse before it gets better. Players look fed up and don't seem to have the cutting edge or winning mentality. I can't believe folk moan about Moyes wages either. All managers earn big money, but out of 'all' the Prem managers, I know Moyes earns his the most. Anybody can get into a Ferrari and win a road race, but I'd like to see the top managers manage the lower teams and see how they do. It's not so easy. Moyes is very highly thought of by all the managers and players alike. Even other fans respect him. He's put Everton back on the map, yet why are the fans so disloyal. Don't you have a strong bond with the guy, or feelings towards him? What happened to the passionate Everton fans? I'd be gutted if Moyes left. I'm 'very' fond of the guy, and I'd actually rather we had Moyes, than win a trophy. Life isn't just about winning. It's also about enjoying the race.
  19. I'm getting a bit confused between the 2 Moyes threads bud, and losing momentum of thought. Builders at door, hence having to be quick. Will check back in a bit.
  20. It was meant to be a joke Ten. Kind of like comparing Moyes' decline to that of a sexy fit bird, stunning in every way, who eventually becomes an overweight farting tv slob with no sex drive or interest lol. It's about 'all' women, not yours in particular lol.
  21. Would you like some smilies for the site? I kept a collection of smilies from my old site in a photobucket account, and there are probably about 200 or so. We used to change them regularly, such as halloween, or Christmas, which kept amusement levels high, and an injection of fun smilies here might cheer a few of the regular smiley users up. I've deleted or lost hundreds over the years, and many were 'war' themed, but still have quite a lot if you want them to pick from. For example:
  22. So, you've finally come out of the X-Factor closet with your leather and studs ablaze huh?
