  1. I don't like players who get others booked. I'm not in my prime at 43, but you'd have to hit me with a good shot to knock me over, such as a full on slam to the head etc. To watch guys in their prime, who have strong legs, and athletic builds fall over like they've been shot is ridiculous. They should make them play a game of Rugby with some proper bruisers. I remember Lafferty from Glasgow falling down, despite knowing thousands of people would know, and yet refs seem to fall for it as though it's all worked.
  2. I think Hibbert is in good form at the moment. I'm not sure I'd want to drop him and put Coleman there. They've been gelling recently.
  3. The fear I have with Beckford being sold is that it sends a clear message to anybody else that could join us on a free. 'Join Everton - so we can sell you for a profit'. Beckford could have joined a number of Premiership clubs, but is now playing for Leicester.
  4. Our striker options: Cahill (over the hill) Saha (over the hill) Vellios (kid) Gueye (kid) Anichebe (injured) McFadden (short term) Straqualursi (not ours) It's not like we have Carlos Tevez but Moyes won't play him. Our strike force is poor. It's a mixture of ageing players and kids. Who should he play next week? Where is the guy who will bag a brace against the gunners?
  5. We were playing great football not too long ago. Had somebody given us Van Persie and Tevez we would probably have won the league, so let's stop thinking Moyes can't do it. He just can't magic things from thin air.
  6. It's good innit? You'd like Fallout and Bioshock too.
  7. I'm concerned about the following points: We already have the smallest squad in the league. 12 players will leave in the summer on a free unless they sign new contracts. Given the fiasco regarding Gosling being able to walk, it makes me wonder if our club actually realise this, and if they do, what they are doing about it. Barkley is still not tied down, and though we do have what I would class as 'key' players tied down, their numbers are few. Some of the 'older' players are included in the 12, such as Saha, and Distin, but players such as Neville, Cahill, Osman, Hibbert, Mucha, Howard etc etc are not. We don't have a squad of 25 players nominated this year. How many will we have next year? .......................................................................................................................................... Have we allowed the contracts to run down because we are about to be taken over, and about to fill the squad with a billion worth of talent?
  8. We have quite a lot of players in the final year of their contract if my research is correct, and quite a few who will be in their final year next season. I know we have plenty to be concerned about, but given that Everton's track record of sorting out contracts has been pretty dire recently, is it a problem? Here is a list of contracts from our current squad: 1 Jan Mucha Contract expires summer 2014 2 Tony Hibbert Contract expires summer 2014 3 Leighton Baines Contract expires summer 2015 5 John Heitinga Contract expires summer 2014 6 Phil Jagielka Contract expires summer 2015 7 Diniyar Bilyaletdinov Contract expires summer 2013 8 Louis Saha Contract expires summer 2012 10 Royston Drenthe Not our player. Contract expires summer 2012 11 Denis Stracqualursi Not our player. Contract expires summer 2012 12 Marcus Hahnemann 39 year old signed until January 2012 14 James McFadden Contract expires summer 2012 15 Sylvain Distin Returning from injury. Contract expires summer 2012 17 Tim Cahill Contract expires summer 2014 18 Philip Neville Contract expires summer 2013 19 Magaye Gueye Contract expires summer 2015 20 Ross Barkley Contract expires summer 2013 21 Leon Osman Contract expires summer 2014 23 Seamus Coleman Contract expires summer 2014 24 Tim Howard Contract expires summer 2014 25 Marouane Fellaini Contract expires summer 2016 26 Jack Rodwell Contract expires summer 2015 27 Apostolos Vellios Contract expires summer 2014 28 Victor Anichebe Contract expires summer 2014 29 Joao Silva On loan Vitoria de Setubal Contract expires summer 2013 30 Shkodran Mustafi Contract expires summer 2012 31 Adam Forshaw Contract expires summer 2012 34 Shane Duffy On loan Scunthorpe. Contract expires summer 2012 37 Jose Baxter On loan Tranmere. Contract expires summer 2012 38 James Wallace On loan Shrewsbury, Contract expires summer 2012 43 Conor McAleny Contract expires summer 2012 When you look at our squad, we really are in need of new faces. It's a very bad situation.
  9. Until modern technology is embraced, this debate will always arise. There is far too much at stake in football now to have mistakes, be they accidental or deliberate. Soon a referee will be attacked or victimised, or worse, and it might not be by fans, but by those more closely connected. There can be little consistency with human nature, so it's time evidence was at hand. Slowing a game down isn't as detrimental as corruption, mistakes, or interpretation of the rules.
  10. Adziom, I tried to answer that for you and it turned in to a lecture, so I stopped. If Moyes thought they were ready, he would pick them. We don't see them every day. Our opinions are uneducated ones in comparison. It's very easy to suggest we drop senior players, but it's not our necks on the line, nor is our business at risk if it goes tits up. Also, if Moyes has a game plan, and those players do what he asks, it might be that he feels they are worthy of selection, where as we look on and wonder what on earth is going on. If it was simple, it would be done. Wouldn't it? A few years ago I was criticized by other fans for daring to suggest we play the kids more often, and drop a few of our stars. How ironic it is that the general consensus now appears to be what was considered out of the question back then.
  11. Guys, it's all very well dropping names in hindsight, but the names being dropped are basically children learning their trade. Does this not give you an insight into the dilemma Moyes faces?
  12. We're up against Arteta next week. Psychologically it will be difficult, though traditionally they normally give us a good seeing to, and I'm expecting a very heavy defeat next week of at least 3 or 4-0.
  13. It was more the automatic knocking of Moyes Patto. You didn't see the game as you stated, but if you had, we actually played very well first half and it was a travesty to be behind. 2nd half we ran out of ideas, and we're unable to break them down, but we were by far the better team all game. Rodders and Distin have been injured, so no surprise they didn't start. Not sure with Saha, but Vellios was given a go. Few other players out, so not sure what better team he could have played. One thing you won't see tonight was how determined the ref was to award us very little, and that isn't bitter, but born out of frustration at the officials today.
  14. It's been a long time since I read anybody blaming the players. That's a pretty good place to start in my book. Also, we need to give Stoke a bit of credit today. It's not like they're shite at defending, and we knew before the game it would be a hard one, especially as there wouldn't be many goals from either team. I thought the ref allowed them to be far too physical today.
  15. Paul, fans are judging a penniless Moyes, and looking for a change in manager, who will also be penniless. Has anybody considered that Moyes with money could be quite a success? He is similar to a pub landlord who has to sell cheap beer and dodgy pies to survive, in a pub that needs extensions and a revamp, while the competition in the same street is owned by big breweries, with fancy modern furnishings and premium brand drinks and entertainment. He keeps that old dive in business, yet some of the punters start to take him for granted, and think it's his fault the pool table isn't level, and the toilets have cheap paper. They think a new manager will pull a better pint. The likelihood is it will be the same old beer under another manager, but the ashtrays won't get cleaned as much, and the bogs will start to stink of piss. At least Moyes has experience, loyalty, and dedication, and when he eventually calls last orders, you'll all wish you'd gotten your drinks in, rather than moan that your drink had no umberella in it.
  16. I played it last night after buying it. I played campaign, which seemed basically like multiplayer against the pc. The movement, regarding straffe, general game play etc seemed very good, but I only played it for about 10 minutes. All the side buttons on the mouse were catered for too. Could play it for a few days, and give a better review, but it would be back to £15.99 by then, hence the £3.74 alert.
  17. First half I thought he did well. Baines is no angel to be fair. I've been pissed off with him this year.
  18. It's not bad for £3.74 down from £15.99, and free play all weekend to try it first.
  19. If they want pleasantries, buy a vibrating ring piece and a good Cuban cigar. Slag my Davy off though and it's open season.
  20. I thought we were great in the first half, so it's no surprise no changes were made at half time. When things started to tire out, he made some substitutions. Everybody screamed for Vellios, and Vellios got his chance, as did Straq at the end. He even gave Gueye 10 minutes. Not sure what fans want from Moyes. He's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. Short of playing himself and scoring, not sure what else he could do.
