  1. England had a good goal disallowed too against Germany.
  2. I watched that on your recommendation last time. Very good film. Another great film I watched recently was The Aviator.
  3. Don't believe everything you read in the tabloids. Still, the lad is doing very well at Ipswich, and is their leading scorer, so not a bad squad player for us if it was true. We can't keep looking at first 11.
  4. Osman wasn't bad either to be fair to the lad. Sometimes players don't stand out as much, but their input is equally important.
  5. I think that interview should finally put fans minds at rest, and make them realise how quick they've been to come to the wrong conclusion. Good post.
  6. You tend to write many things on this board, and then feel the need to explain yourself, so as not to offend. Let me tell you that it's not a very good tactic, as the offence still get's taken. If you think folk will be offended, then don't write it. Instead, find a better way to express yourself, and if you can't find a way to do it without sounding a tw@t, then it's probably a good idea to not say it. Personally, I think you get a bit of a buzz from pointing out our faults, but walking on thin ice too often will result in you getting wet. Nobody likes a smart arse mate.
  7. Back on topic, we pulled level yesterday after being a goal down, and we did so by not giving up, and playing until the whistle. I've not seen that spirit for a while, but it was evident yesterday. Norwich might have scored, but we were by far the better team. If Drenthe had been fit enough for 90 minutes, I'm sure he would have been played for 90 minutes. Moyes might be a lot of things, but he doesn't strike me as being daft. As for young players like Vellios, Barkley, etc, Moytes giving them a run out is giving them a taster. Not playing them isn't that they are dropped, but that he feels the time is not right for their growth. They'll get another run out, but the long term is more important than the short. We normally go on a decent run in the second half, and we generally start to play better just before Christmas, so I think we'll go on a bit of a run soon, especially if we can get a goal scoring mentality back into the side. Hopefully the window will be kind to us.
  8. Jeez, don't you have a European exit to go cry about? There's one thing having a chat with our fans, but it's another posting negative objections to a positive thread designed to lift our members. Nobody gives a toss whether you 'fail to see it'. You're a Manchester City fan. Do you look for ugly people in the world so you can point out their ugliness? It might be the truth in 'your' eyes, but some of us would look for beauty in other areas of that person. How about being a bit more tactful please mate?
  9. The Mancs probably thought you were referring to CCTV in the town center. How else could they get away with being hoodies on the rob? Cheers for the results. I'd be surprised if they were any different though, as fans and indeed clubs tend to want what is good for the game. It seems the governing bodies have a different agenda, though strictly speaking it should be down to the football clubs to decide. It's their outcome that is often affected after all. If Fifa etc say no, the clubs should make a stand and tell them to take a running jump. Refereeing mistakes spoil the game.
  10. Did I mention Hibbert even took a shot on goal? It's on baby.
  11. Can anybody feel it? Is anybody else excited? I felt Drenthe yesterday rolled his sleeves up, and made a very big statement of intent. We also received the news that Landon was returning, and Barkley signing his contract for me made the week complete. I think we can take yesterdays match, and find lots of positives, and I'm very confident that we can push on, and turn our season around now, with the January window being the icing on the cake. We're gonna kick some serious ass soon. I can feel it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8g6wJOu19hQ
  12. Back to rage, I appreciate that I am very fortunate, in that I'm playing on a fabulous pc, with huge monitor and the best headphones I could afford, so my gaming experience is already incredible compared to my old rig and 17 inch monitor, but I have to say that Rage is quickly becoming the greatest single player experience I've had in ages, and I've played some stuff in my time. It's just stunningly good. The AI is probably as good as any game you will find, but the movement is unlike anything you will have seen. I've just finished the level regarding the Jackals, and it was just a joy to behold. Really impressed by the developers here. The only thing that could possibly make it better would be for it to be a 'completely' open world, with no boundaries, or linearity, but that would be asking an awful lot. Best game of 2011 by a mile.
  13. Just forked out £360 for the wife's insurance. ABC insurers. By far the cheapest I could find, but I had to forget about protecting bonus etc. Too expensive by far, and no longer is no claims worth a carrot.
  14. Dalziel, I think you read the history of Everton book a little too much.
  15. I think Cahill stands out for me as being an Everton great as much as anybody else in our modern day to be fair to him. I'm not even his biggest admirer, but he's been great.
  16. I'm not sure why I'm the only guy who voted for Baines, but crazier things happen I guess. Drenthe was exciting today, but man of the match? Nah.
  17. I'll leave any presentations to the board thanks very much. They're the guys that know the business that they are trying to sell. Not us. We have not a single fact or figure in front of us. To even try to discuss it would be hypothetical and trivial.
  18. We're as good as the table suggests. Had we not lost a few players, we would probably be a few places higher.
  19. You can't flip a coin in such a nonchalant way when it comes to why nobody has bought the club. There are many factors for any prospective investor to take into account, and to suggest it's either the price is too high, or the owner is fussy, is simply ridiculous. Sometimes I wonder if folk try to give an impression that they know what they are talking about on forums, when they clearly don't.
  20. We only have a small bench. Distin has a big ass.,
  21. Not the team I was hoping to see, but let's hope it gets a result.
  22. For me, he was a decent acquisition last time around, and played great in some matches, and so so in others. I'm glad he is returning, as it's 'another' first 11 body in our squad, and another option for Moyes. I have a sneaky feeling that he is here with a view to stay, and not just on loan.
  23. Why would Harry lend us Defoe when he has a realistic chance of the title? It would be madness on his behalf wouldn't it? Also, why do folk think Pienaar is coming back? Has something been disclosed?
