  1. We're not a bogey team. We were the better team, until you spent a billion quid. Quit with the grandiosity. .

We score lots of goals late on. We aren't prolific, but we were the more likely to score.

If we accept we are not as good as we think, then we can be pleased with the win. The 2nd half was better, but we still look as though we are lacking quality. We probably have a great defence, but take big Mo off the pitch, and we look fairly clueless everywhere else. A strong creative midfielder is needed, and we are unlikely to get one in January. It's clear to see why Gueye doesn't get too many starts. Apply that same thought to our other 'verge' players, and it's easy to see why Moyes sticks with what he knows. Next match, we have Donovan, so Moyes should try to be as attacking as possible while he is here.
  4. Agree, the big lad done good. Was pleased to see Straq working hard too, and congrats to Anichebe.

It's typical we have an early start on New Years day. It was always the case when we played Portsmouth away too.
  6. You don't mind the colour, as long as it's long and thick, huh?
  7. I think a lot depends on how old you are regarding games. Different things entertain different folk. I'm remembering when a white square flashing across a screen was exciting. Kids now have missed out on a lot of innocence and wonder.
  8. Great buy Louis. You'll love it. Just bought Dead Island and L.A Noire. TRhe only thing that annoys me with Steam is that their servers are always too busy to let you download the games immediately, and then they are slow downloads. What should take me minutes takes me all day.
  9. You can get BIOSHOCK 1 and 2 for £3.49 each. Great games, particularly BIOSHOCK 1. DEAD ISLAND DOWN TO £14.99 Few other deals too. Last day of the sales either today or tomorrow. Was hoping they would have Trine 2 on sale.
  10. Can we have jokey ones? Somebody agrees with Avinalaff? Haf smiles and toasts Moyes? Pete gets a quiz question right? Bill tells a funny joke? Ahem ....
  11. I think 'small minded' fans might think like that, but it would take a very harsh fan indeed to doubt Henri regarding greatness. He was a blessing to the Prem. As for Donovan, if we are honest, much of the hype is romance. He was decent, but he wasn't 'incredible'. I'll be glad if he is 'decent' again.
  12. Is it just coincidence that both Nigerians (Yak and Yakubu) became problematic? Same with Anichebe?
  13. Not heard anything from Everton regarding it. It probably won't come out either.
  14. Incidentally, the aggravating factors and the mitigating factors are probably what most wil be interested in.
  15. In 2012, Leighton Baines will be sold to Manchester.
  16. Matt, do you have any solid evidence that points to Beckford having a bad attitude? I don't doubt you, but I've not had the pleasure of any article pointing towards this.
  17. Blueboy, can you use the quote facility, as I can never be sure who you are discussing partticular issues with. His wages were a matter of discussion at the time of his signing. Saha had 'offered' to play and be paid, but Moyes would not allow it, and he was paid the same as the next guy.
  18. That's huge, but I found the following statement. If that is true then it's very bad for Suarez.. We can't have that attitude in football.
  19. There were mixed opinions on Beckford. I think it's irrelevant regarding how he is performing for Leicester. Psychologically, a move from Everton to Leicester is a huge blow, so I think he would probably have lost much confidence. Personally I liked him, and would have liked 2 or 3 seasons to see what he could do. It's history now though, so a pointless discussion, as is Yakubu, at least in relation to his time here. Players often perform differently under different environments. It's a big subject involving our mental states. Pushing the right buttons can get the best out of players. I'd have to question as to whether the right buttons were pressed with these players. At the same time, players need to let managers know what those buttons are, by the correct responses. I think Yakubu needed an arm around his shoulder telling him how much he was loved, and how great he was. I'm not sure Moyes is that type of manager.
  20. We sold Beckford too, and he had bagged a few last year himself. I can only put it down to the club having to satisfy the banks. Losing Yak took wages off the bill. That combined with a free profit from Beckford ends up quite a sum. Maybe they felt Saha was the cheaper option regarding wages, and felt he would be more likely to score. The alternative might have been to sell Baines, or Fellaini etc, so it could be they just had to bite the bullet. Arteta going spoke many words.
  21. Yak has 12 goals, but he's only scored in 6 matches. Everton have scored 18 times in the Prem. Awful, I agree, yet funnily enough, Liverpool have only 6 more than we do, including the 3 goals they scored yesterday, and their strike force and midfield are quite formidable. We'll get there. We just have to be realistic with our expectations and a little more patient with Moyes.
