  1. Beckham was an outstanding captain, very similar to Neville, and both would be in my top 10 captains in Prem history. Being captain isn't about being a figurehead. It's about ensuring the players do as they're told to do by being a manager 'on the pitch'.
  2. I didn't say that at all. What I implied was that we have nobody to fill the position as well as Neville does. Johnny Heitinga captain? On what grounds? It certainly isn't his footballing skills, so perhaps it is his lack of pace, or his ability to foul his opponents? Jags? On what grounds? His ability to hold his place despite sloppy performances until he finally finds a bit of form? Maybe it's because we have nobody else? If I was going to give it to any of them, it would probably be Pienaar, as he has captained his country and is fairly vocal when guys mess up. Hibbert would be next.
  3. How on earth can Chelsea justify such a sacking, unless it was a personal issue ? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2236196/Roberto-Di-Matteo-sacked-Chelsea-Abramovich-targets-Pep-Guardiola.html?ito=feeds-newsxml
  4. It's important we get back on track with a victory. I think we will see Gibson and Mirallas back, even if not for the full 90 minutes. It was good that Fellaini got the yellow, as we have bigger matches to come soon.
  5. Where are the remarks? Coleman is well liked amongst supporters, and most understand he is stil learning and will make the odd mistake, so I find it surprising.
  6. Nev is captain. Anybody else in our team are mere pretenders to the throne. Being a captain isn't offered to appease somebody. It's a man management position, and players need to be capable of doing just that, not to mention being able to communicate with the referee too. With Nev out, I don't see another Nev.
  7. It's a little bit of resourcefulness, a little bit of know how, a little bit of creativity, and a lot of being a no life boring twat with too much time.
  8. Downings 'A game' is superb, and I'd have him like a shot. It's his 'B' game that needs to improve. Just because players fail at other clubs should not be a reason to dismiss them, especially if the price is right. He's only in his late 20's too.
  9. There seems to be a concept that you don't need to be a rich club to win something, so David Moyes is a failure, in so many words, so let's look at the statistics, and see if those who think that are correct. Well, it could be argued that the clubs highlighted in green prove this, but, didn't they spend a few quid themselves? Were some / all of them taken over? Notice not a single one of them who won 'any bit of silverware' are still playing top flight football. Still want Everton to go into debt to win a trophy? 10. When you have exciting attacking players, you can play exciting attacking football. Moyes planted some seeds, and protected them as they grew. Now we are seeing a bit of fruit from the hard work, and hopefully soon the whole garden will be in bloom at the same time.
  11. Many of the members there seem very pleased with Barkley, even if a few seem a bit inexperienced with their evaluations. I think it's a typical knee jerk reaction, and not totally unexpected. Wednesday are playing in a very difficult league, and like most promoted teams, struggle, until they finally adapt, be it with time, or investment, and to read some of them suggesting Barkley is the reason for their poor start is interesting, if disappointing. You can throw a diamond into a bag of coal, but it won't make the other coals sparkle, and if anything, it tarnishes the shine of the true gem. If Wednesday want their team to improve, a little patience, and a bit of polishing is needed. Just make sure they haven't given us a Cubik Zirkona back instead ....... dodgy gits.
  12. Our current football style is anything but cautious and tentative.
  13. How should he be punished ? Firing Squad ? Maybe the Electric Chair ? Hanging ?
  14. Gibson played in the U21's ..........
  15. He's 20 by the looks of things, so probably still learning his trade.
  16. Everton wouldn't exactly be wise to announce their financial intentions. If we are still near the top come January, I think we will see more new faces, even if they're loans.
  17. I wonder if Moyes is holding out to see if the board sell Fellaini or Baines in January before signing a new contract?
  18. Best for the job would be Steve Round.
  19. Somebody thinks Romey is knowledgable?
  20. Hi Carlos. Welcome mate. We won't blame you for today's result, however my Internet went down earlier during a very important game of Call of duty, and for that, I hold you personally responsible, and expect better contributions in the future.
  21. Naismith was the only one who stood out in the first half. Nothing special from anybody else. Baines was out of form, and crosses were shite today. Again, we can't keep a clean sheet. Time to roll some heads.

How the hell can we go in at half time totally dominant, and come out absolutely rubbish? What goes on at half time? It's also time the refs were complained about. It's as though there is an officiating forcefield stopping us from breaking into the top teams.
