  1. We were in 8th or 9th this time last year too. I think we need to take West Brom seriously, as they also finished in the top 10 last season. This year though is a mixed bag, as Newcastle and Liverpool are struggling by their own standards, as are Arsenal and Spurs, so our league placing is as much to do with nobody taking a grip yet outside the biggest 3 clubs. Last year we didn't have Pienaar, Jelavich, Oviedo, Naismith, Mirallas or Hitzlsperger.
  2. Twitter should be viewed as a separate entity entirely regarding fans, and those involved represent themselves on a personal basis, not the club or it's support. Twitter, or any other networking site should also be responsible for it's own governing and policing.
  3. Arsenal will be our 14th Premiership game this season, just as it was last year. Let's look at the 2 seasons so far: 2011-12 : Played 13 - Points 16 - Won 5 - Drawn 1 - Lost 7 - Scored 15 - Conceded - 16 - Goal difference -1 (Home form 2 wins - 1 Draws - 3 losses) (Away 3 wins - 4 losses) 2012-13 : Played 13 - Points 21 - Won 5 - Drawn 6 - Lost 2 - Scored 23 - Conceded - 17 - Goal difference +6 (Home form 4 wins - 2 Draws - 0 losses) (Away Won 1 - Draws 4 - losses 2) Teams Played Last Year: QPR Blackburn Villa Wigan City Liverpool Chelsea Fulham United Newcastle Wolves Bolton Teams Played This Year: United Villa W Brom Newcastle Swansea Southampton Wigan QPR Liverpool Fulham Sunderland Reading Norwich Last year, we had played United, Chelsea, City, Liverpool, Newcastle and Fulham. This year, we've played United, Liverpool, Newcastle, Liverpool, Fulham, and a strong W Brom, but yet to play Chelsea or City.
  4. He sounded just like any other 18 year old footballer to me. Let's let the kid be a kid, and develop in his own time.
  5. Mixed feelings with Rangers or Celtic to be fair. For years, both were happy taking the cream from the Scottish football while the other clubs got nothing, nor had the chance to compete. For me, that in itself is a wrong doing, so as much as I sympathise with your current emotions, you've had more happy ones than the majority of Scottish fans, so the best thing for Scottish football would be for the same thing to happen to Celtic. And as for your behaviour when you came down to Manchester, I thought it was disgusting, and surprised you weren't kicked out of Europe full stop, so it's nothing more than Karma. So nothing personal to you mate, or any individual not involved, but the only petition I'll ever sign regarding Glasgow football clubs is one that wants to find a giant pair of scissors, and cut Scotland off the map altogether, and let it float off into the sea until they sort their Neanderthal heads out.
  6. As long as they actually 'watch' the match, they'll have an informed opinion, won't they? Ticket snob.
  7. Steam sale: Dishonoured and Borderlands 2 only £14.99 Deus X £3.74 Batman Arkham City £4.99
  8. We can't leave our big players out against Arsenal. Moyes will need to accomodate where necessary.
  9. I find the frustrative comments before the facts the most entertaining.
  10. I think yelling at team mates is a sign of a bad captain. A true leader gets his point across with a mere whisper.
  11. Has the Everton bubble burst ? For me at least, no. All that has happened in my own opinion is that the expectancy levels of the fans have been raised, and we are now looking at our form from the perspective of falling world beaters, rather than the much clear headed perspective of the stop start progression of a team destined for better things. Had Everton been playing the drab boring football of some, then we could probably have good reason to be supportively depressed, but if we are to look at the bigger picture, we are playing some quite outstanding football, and not quite getting the results we deserve. Much has been down to very poor refereeing decisions, which have cost us dearly this season, and much has been down to our own inability to take the extra step, and win the game, be it because of carelessness, or a lack of luck. I'm not sure it's because of a lack of effort. What I'm certainly sure about, is that it isn't due to David Moyes, and it's important not to focus on negativity, and instead focus on everything positive that is happening at present. How do we turn negative thinking in to positive thinking? Take the Fellaini / Baines concerns for example. We worry that these players will get sold, or will want to leave, when what we should be doing is finding positive thought in the fact that we have some of the leagues / worlds best players in our team, on long term contracts, and the rest of the world know it. Our problem is we are not used to the constant spotlight that this attracts, and panic every time our players are linked to outside interest. It is normal that other clubs will desire our players, and the better they are, the more they will be desired, so instead of worrying, walk with a swagger that they play for us, not them, and the very worst that can happen is that if they ever do leave, it will likely be for very big sums of money, which for a team in our financial position, is yet another positive. More positive thinking, is that not a single team has been able to live with us in terms of when we are playing our best football, regardless of the final result, so bearing this in mind, we are definitley heading in the right direction, and it is important to let Moyes analyze the situation, and make little tweaks here and there, until he gets it just right, which I'm sure he will. Staying positive, we have Fellaini back next game, and probably Mirallas, Gibson, and Hibbert will be fit, so much to look forward to in terms of our options, and Hitzlsperger and Oviedo have looked very good too, so when was the last time we could get so excited about our squad? Ossie has just been called up for England, so there is another plus point, which should boost 'his' confidence, and his form, so no negatives there. Coleman has also been getting caps, not to mention the other lads, and talking about Coleman, the lad has been great for us since he came, so big deal if he makes the odd mistake. Let's not forget what we paid for him, and what he gives us. Barkley is back with the squad after a decent loan spell, so another thing to be positive about there, and we have a few new faces on the bench too, so all in all, much to keep us smiling. Sure, we've dropped a few points, but we are still above Arsenal, Liverpool, Spurs, Fulham, and Newcastle despite our recent run, and playing better football than any of them. Next, we get the chance to raise our game against Arsenal and City, and in the past, it's these games that have ignited our season form, and it may just be the case again, so let them worry about us. We used to moan that Moyes was predictable, and we could set our clocks to the time of his substitutions. Now, some guys are moaning because he hasn't changed things on 70 minutes, which is a little funny in an ironic way. Our bubble hasn't burst in my opinion. We've simply paused to draw breath, before making it bigger.
  12. Oviedo for me. As for Everton, they're proper pissing me off in the 2nd half of every game at the moment, so won't be giving them much thought for the rest of the day.
  13. I can only shake my head. Lost for words.
  14. Do they put something in the half time drinks? Wake the heck up !
  15. We need a 2nd goal to avoid recent disappointments.
  16. Dear Tim, stop flaming hoofing it - let the lads play.
  17. Why no Coleman, Gibson or Mirallas?
  18. Unbelievable error from Mignolet. 2-0 Wish we had luck like that.
  19. He didn't exactly do bad at Blackburn either, even if they were dirty bar stewards.
  20. Hughes was exellent with Wales, so not sure he is a shit manager.

    Reading

It was certainly an exellent full debut, and the thought of using both him and Gibson is an interesting one.
  22. The Chelsea ex boss may have been a better option. Redknapp is a spender.
  23. My figures are based on the maths of the net total, i.e if you sell 5 players for £100m and buy 3 players for £90m, you recoup £10m, or if you buy 3 players for £60m and sell 1 player for £50m, then you spend £10m. The term 'recouped' was the best word I could think of at the time, and represents a transfer window were the dealings of the club showed a net profit. That doesn't mean my maths is correct, unless checked, but I did at least use a calculator. Liverpool in the same period: spent - £293,116000 recouped - £13,800000 bottom line £279316000
