That's great news. People forget we plucked this lad out of the League of Ireland for less than some players weekly wage, and then set about playing him out of position on the wing. He's done himself proud for the most part, and at 24, is not even in his prime yet as a man, let alone a defender, so he has loads of time to get it right. One of our best acquisitions under Moyes.

I remember Moyes clearing the squad of old veterans, so can't see us bringing in a mid 30's midfielder, especially when Lazio are offering him 3 years on 2m per year. He might have been a great player, but much of that is down to desire and determination, often lost when leaving the club you love.

They're the Champions of Europe, and now have a top manager in charge (I hate to say it) and we matched them whilst having Gibson, Hibbert, Coleman, Mirallas, Fellaini missing, and our center back covering Right Back.
