I don't want to hap on over the same point, but it's not just about what happens on the pitch. Fellaini as a brand, is potentially enormous, and I wonder if Everton are making the most of it. Baines as a brand, is fairly inconspicuous by comparison. The Afro is golden, and any club buying him should cough up extra simply for the revenue he will create.

I don't agree Bill. I think the kid is a kid, and did a stupid kiddy thing, but a Semi final is not the place to be behaving like that. It certainly shouldn't have led to Hazaard being involved, but at the time, I don't suppose Hazaards intentions were bad. The kid was lucky it wasn't Joey Barton trying to get the ball, as he'd probably be in intensive care by now.

For me, it would be Baines. We have Oviedo already in the squad, and that means we can immidiately cover Baines' position with 'another' attacking Left Back. Whether he proves to offer what Baines does remains to be seen, but the early signs are there that he is an exciting player with speed. We can then use the money to bolster our midfield. Baines is 28, where as Fellaini is 25. The only issue I have is that Baines is English. He is our dead ball specialist too, but there are others also, such as Jelavic and Gibson, not to mention Hitz. If we lose Fellaini, we also lose an icon. He can put us on the world wide map in the same way that Beckham succeeded, and the financial opportunities are huge, especially if Belgium do well. Without him, we would have a big hole in the team, that I feel is harder to fill.

That's not really correct Mike, is it. Had you said "I don't know" it would have gone unchallenged, but you actually said "I wasn't raped or abused as a child/teenager so I'm not in a position to judge." which is very different than "I don't know". My first instinct is to doubt, not embrace. It is also law in this country that folk are innocent until proven guilty beyond doubt. Therefore my first reaction is to presume the accusers are lying, until they are proven to be not. That is parallel with UK law, and not simply dismissive. At least the guy is alive to defend himself.
