  3. There is also the possibility that it could be nothing more than a market place bartering down of the price etc, just like pointing out a bit of rust on a car and reducing your offer / trying it on.
  4. The guy is 19 years old. If he joins us, he will have the opportunity to train under Howard, and our coaches, in the knowledge that Howards days are slowing down, and withing a year or 2 he will have the goalkeeping job at one of the top sides in the Premier League if he is good enough. There are only 20 jobs, and some of those already have top class keepers employed, so it's all about youth being patient, and making the correct career move.
  5. How have they jumped the gun? Fans complain when they're not informed and then complain when they are.
  6. A lot of people are blaming Everton here and not really getting to grips with our current situation, or that of other clubs. Buying and selling players is a bit like buying and selling houses. You speak to the agents, and scout around a little yourselves, and if you see something you like, you make an enquiry. Then the other club need to weigh up if the deal is good for them, and whether they could replace to their benefit, and so a chain begins. Then, just like having a survey done on the house, you do background checks on the player and put him through a medical, in order to protect your potential investment, and that is presuming that you have the finances in place to do the deal. There is a huge amount of effort coming from our club to keep the club on track, from top to bottom, and I'd like it more if our fans didn't automatically jump on the clubs back when the club rightly work within their boundaries.
  7. I think there has been much to be frustrated with this season, after seeing how 'we can' play, and then watching our side run out of inspiration and determination, with lack lustre displays which allowed the Manchester teams to become out of reach. Injuries aside, the application from players has not been good enough. Had it not been for the fact that other teams have also been poor, it would have been business as usual regarding us chasing for 'best of the rest'. Yes, we started off well, but we haven't kept it going. I'm hoping for a return of European football at the end of the season. It doesn't need to be Champions league, but it would be nice. As for Moyes, he is the epitome of everything I like about the club, but I think he belongs here, and not in Germany, nor elsewhere. I think he can do with Everton what he can do with Chelsea or United, but he needs to grasp the opportunities before him and make the players believe. I get tired of people talking only of Baines or Fellaini. We are so much bigger than those 2 players. We are a 'team' and we have many great players, who together, make a great team. Those 2 players are popular with the press, but we would still be a team, with, or without them, and we would still be knocking on the door of the top four. Moyes is the only signature that I care about, and the worst thing Chelsea could do is give Moyes spending money. I also think Moyes knows the pitfalls of taking a job like Chelsea, and would stay clear. There are only 2 clubs in this league that have respected their managers long term, and only one of those 2 would be a long term home for Davey if it came around, but hopefully he will stay here, as he is so close to achieving something bigger than he could achieve at a club with money, and that is having the pleasure to plant the seeds and watch 'his' team grow, and become successful, as opposed to buying the league ready made. It's not all or nothing, but we need to start taking our chances.
  8. Didn't you read what I wrote? There is an issue hanging over his head that needs to be resolved, and 'that' is probably the stumbling block. The Johan Derksen guy is editor of the biggest sporting magazine in Holland, so the rumours must be reasonably legit. Kenwright will need to know what the issues are and make a decision. If it is serious, and the guy goes to prison, or there is a scandal etc, it would not be good for our club.

  10. The adverts on the Everton website are overpowering.

  13. Apparently they've flown home? Laugh to keep from cryin'.
  14. Ah well. * Visions of Bill speeding down the runway trying to prevent Fellainis plane from taking off shouting "Waaaaaaaaaaait !!"
  15. He's just a young lad Pete. Always trying to find the funny one liner and constantly fucking it up. A bit like me ha ha.
  16. Thanks for the link. I have a feeling the thread I viewed was possibly a newer thread, so unnecessary.
  17. Look Mike. Get one thing straight. Treat people as though they were stood next to you. You caused the problem by deleting the thread, when simple moderation would have been suffice, and did so without the slightest regard for the guy who had taken the time to create it, so drop the badly done to bollocks. If you want respect, offer it.
  18. What I found strange was that on the Twenty website, only one single reply had been made in the thread highlighting his depature. Regarding the deal, both parties and indeed the player need to be happy, so if the original deal has stalled, I'm sure they'll work it out. In Moyes' interview, he gives a little indication that there might be further movement via his body language when asked, so who knows. What I 'will' say is that the player is probably not the exciting force many fans think, and likely to be more of a solid presence than anything else. According to the media, if we're expecting a creative passer we might be disappointed.
  19. Thanks FCT and good luck for the remainder of your season.
  20. The thread was something similar to this, so not sure why it should be deemed inappropriate and deleted.
  21. Stop sending my thread off topic. A reply regarding why the thread was deleted, rather than moved, might have been more polite.
  22. I wonder if they want to loan him and decide in the summer?
