  1. Wouldn't get in above Naismith? You must be taking the piss or using hallucinogenic drugs. Also, who is going to play Rightback for us? I thought that was Coleman, besides, Coleman's proven himself ineffective the past two seasons at Right-mid... Better at Rightback. Oh well, Donovan is shit, only 7 assists in 9 matches for us last time. Terrible ratio. Here's a real example of his utter lack of quality.
  2. My guess is that Moyes wanted to bring him in on a permanent eventually if he proved himself good enough.
  3. So because Donovan is a free just like Naismith and Hitz, that means Donovan is the same level of player and not good enough?
  4. So in the past 5 minutes of your posting you've said you don't want Hitz, Naismith, or Neville near the 1st team. So how do you plan on navigating a Premier League season + FA Cup + League Cup + possibly European campaign with a squad of about 13 players?
  5. Let's be frank, no manager is going to come in right away and make what Moyes earns. Moyes earns so much because he has been here for 11+ years, has been very successful, and needs to be on high wages in order to discourage him from leaving for a club that might offer similar wages to him and a better transfer budget. *edit* Moyes is in a unique situation, and I don't think it can be assumed that Everton would pay any manager what we pay Moyes.
  6. Agreed with this, however I'm trying to figure out if he is sick of football period, or sick of LA and not playing in a league with players and competition up to the standard that he can play at. If it's the former, he doesn't really belong here, if it's the latter he could be a valuable squad player for us.
  7. It's funny that the same people who bitch about not having a big enough squad and being sick and tired of playing Osman, Pienaar, even after bad performances, yet they won't take a solid squad player on a free. But hey, the only Everton player who is really matters is Ross Barkley, right?
  8. What better player will you find on a Bosman? Our squad lacks depth, he is a MUCH better option than Naismith on the right which you rats complain about. On a free, this is a no brainer. Someone's age/sell on value doesn't really matter when they join for free. It's as simple as that.
  9. I feel like this place is acting and will act like a bunch of sailors in the Navy on a submarine who haven't seen a woman for months (ex: The Spy Who Loved Me)... But anyways, welcome Rachel from a fellow Yank here!
  10. Over Mirallas? No probably not. Over Naismith on the right? Um... Is that even a question. He can play on the right, left, up top, and behind the striker. So I think he'd be an excellent squad player on a free.
  11. I don't see him playing for Galaxy beyond this year. Doesn't like it there anymore, he will either retire or leave at the end of the season. His contract is up, so I, along with I assume almost everyone else here would take him on a Bosman. Who knows, maybe even a tiny fee during the summer? (Less than one million?). Personally I don't see the point in him playing beyond this year if it's still in LA, he's clearly bored. He'd do well to either retire or go elsewhere.
  12. I think he's bored and miserable at Galaxy to be honest.
  13. Hopefully wages won't match the rise in revenue at least for awhile. Would be a good time to both add to the squad & pay off some debt.
  14. Great draw. Wigan at home should be manageable, especially when they haven't really been putting a strong team out for the Cup (focused on survival).
  15. I doubt he'll be available anytime soon unless this deal with the Russian club is only a short term deal (6-18 months), and if he came on a contract with significant release clauses/or other things that would allow us to back out of the deal if he became a behavioral issue.
  16. It was obviously Heitinga's fault. He was absolutely nowhere to be found today in our defense.
  17. Wigan are a small club with little resources. Keeping them in the Premier League every year is an accomplishment in of itself. Martinez is a tactically intelligent manager who does a lot with less resources, and lesser players. Knows the transfer market well too. Besides, I DOUBT we'd put him on 75k a week.
  18. Funny, I think Hulk Hogan would fit in quite well on this board.
  19. Only the strong and/or stupid will survive at ToffeeTalk. The stupid being the people too dumb to comprehend the insults and put-downs thrown at them by the veterans of this board. I like it here though, much more colorful than Grand Old Team.
  20. Moyes said he's nearly ready according to one article. That's a big positive sign in my opinion. Personally, like I said, I feel the one thing he needs is Championship level first team experience.
  21. Leeds United, Reading, Brentford in the past 3 seasons.
  22. Not in the squad tonight for Leeds against Boro. Surely a sign that he's on his way back, right?
  23. Hell no. I've heard no one rate Browning. Sorry, this is a tricky cup fixture, and as much as I'd like to see youth play, Tyias Browning is not one of the first few that come to mind...
  24. Brace today against Chelsea U21's. How would you all rate the U21/Reserve competition with say League 1 or League 2?
  25. Gibson and Felli in the middle I presume, but who on the left? Oviedo?
