  1. I think he's a very sub-par ref. Have seen many of his performances where he's just been very inconsistent.
  2. Hard to tell. Both Villa and Wigan are starting to look like half a football team. To be honest, I could see one or two teams with poor form getting sucked done (ie: Sunderland)
  3. I thought it was more like 3-3.5, but you may be right. Jeez, Twente must really be money strapped if they were willing to accept 1.5m upfront for Fer.
  4. And I thought I'd seen it all on this board.
  5. Stop it Toffeetalkers. This fellow is on here to wind us up. Looking for attention, give him none.
  6. Exactly. He still put in more of a shift than any our players.
  7. I don't think Martinez is bad. He knows a player in the transfer market, has to deal with selling his best player transfer every summer, has minimal funds to work with, and is very tactically adept. I mean how many players in this day would try either the 3-5-2 or 5-3-2 or 3-4-3 or whatever it is he goes with.
  8. Can we vote for Callum McManaman? He was the best player on the pitch today that's worn an Everton shirt before.
  9. Not giving you stick mate. Being a mod on this forum must suck.
  10. This thread shouldn't be up. Can't decide whether I'm going to give it to Mucha, or not vote for anyone. The only two possible ways to votes.
  11. Leave the pitch now Everton. You're a joke. Honestly, you should be fined of a month's wages, and maybe tortured physically.
  12. Can't see how we'd be a much worse investment compared with Villa either. That club is losing a large amount of money still after drastically reducing wages. Their turnover is not that great, and it's not like Villa Park is one of these new, modern stadiums like Etihad or Emirates or Stadium of Light. Oh well. *Edit* Villa turnover (revenue) for 2010/2011- 92m pounds, wage bill of 83m (i'm sure it's been reduced since) Everton- 82m turnover, 58m wages.
  13. Got to be honest here, if ref's followed the letter of the law exactly, then there'd be 3-5 sendings off per game and no tackling in football. A ref using good judgment and discretion and common sense is the best approach.
  14. We're only competing with teams that spend about twice as much money in wages, have a shot at a European place, have a good shot at a FA Cup Semi-final, and are above Liverpool, but hey, a bad run of games obviously means the entire squad needs to go. Our squad has a few members that should go, or become squad players instead of everyweek starting 11 players, but if anything, we need to strengthen the squad depth-wise.

    Reading (H)

That shows more character than what I see out of most footballers nowadays. I also think Le Fondre is a good little player.
  17. Hopefully this "surgery" is just stitches.. It'd be a great time for Heitinga to find form again, or else play Duffy.
  18. Sounds like he has more than soccer issues. Sounds like he's got human issues right now and is doing a bit of soul-searching.
  19. Agree to disagree I guess.
  20. Bottom line, Donovan improves are squad. Our squad is too small as it is, we may be in Europe next year. Sorry, he's a better option than Naismith, Oviedo out wide, can play 4 positions. Can we not afford to pay another player's wages?
  21. Correction: Buying implies a fee-involved. Donovan would be on a free.
  22. This. Not sure who I'd rather have at rightback, Hibbo or Coleman. but definitely those two above Stones & Neville.
  23. Well if you watched the matches as well as noticed the statistics, Donovan was pretty damn good for us. How can you say you'd play John Stones? No one has seen him yet!
  24. Coleman's future is at fullback. And oh, Vellios, Oviedo, Kennedy.. real Champions League caliber bunch there.
