  1. Bill, despite you saying that you rated Steven Naismith over Landon Donovan, you're not a terrible fellow! Good work!
  2. http://www.evertonfc.com/news/archive/2013/06/03/everton-statement Looks like Dave Whelan spoke too soon, I heard a rumor that the club are trying to renegotiate Martinez's compensation package to Wigan after Martinez failed his medical.
  3. I hope he brings Emmerson Boyce and Ron Stam so we can bring Wigan's patented brand of defense to our great club! But in all seriousness, I am now behind the manager 100%, and hope that his defensive troubles at Wigan were due just as much to the team's quality (or lack there of) as it was his brand of football.
  4. I don't think we'll ever see him in the form that he was in the first 15-20 matches he was here.
  5. "Everton chairman Bill Kenwright rang me last week and said, if our talks broke down, could he have permission to talk to Roberto?" -Dave Whelan http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11682/8739854/Premier-League-Wigan-manager-Roberto-Martinez-to-leave-club Sounds like he wasn't our first choice? I take it Peirera was our first choice, and we couldn't get him?
  6. We're not called "Bitter Blues" for nothing.
  7. You must be kidding. Martinez would need 15-20 new players if he were to take over Stoke. That appointment simply would not work due to Martinez and Pulis using completely opposite styles of football lmao. I'd love to see Dean Whitehead, Rory Delap, and Glenn Whelan try to play pretty, passing football in midfield.
  8. No way. No managerial experience, minimal coaching experience. However, I feel like Dunc would make a great manager for Stoke, I mean Stoke's play generally is borderline criminal assault.
  9. You're confusing the words "experience" and "accomplishments".
  10. Which only makes sense in my opinion. What should Moyes be doing, sitting around playing grab ass, twittling his thumbs at Finch Farm? Jesus, Evertonians are always bitching about something. Kopite behavior.
  11. Hope they play a match in Indianapolis. I'd be tempted to make the 8 hour drive.
  12. I just can't see Rafa going to a club like Stoke. He can do better, but it may mean him having to go outside of England.
  13. I'd welcome Pulis here. Moyes has proven that we don't need goals to be competitive, we just need to tighten up at the back and get a few more clean sheets. Maybe he can bring Ryan Shawcross with him, pair him with Distin and move Jags to rightback. Play Vic up front along side another tall striker he could find in the market. I love the idea. *another windup*
  14. We're on track to qualify if we get the results against teams we should. It's still very early in CONCACAF qualifying.
  15. I'm not sure how I feel about Klinsmann. For one, everyone here knows this I believe, but I'm an American, so first and foremost this would mean that the USMNT has to find a new coach during a crucial period in the World Cup qualifying process, which would be a major disappointment and concern for me. On that same note, I'm not sure why Klinsmann would leave the USMNT before the World Cup next summer (I just couldn't see it happening), unless there are some major behind the scenes conflicts I don't know of. He brings a lot of energy as a manager, and that could be something that could give a side a boost when needed, and he did a great job with the German national team, but had a mixed record with Bayern Munich, and has had mixed success with USMNT. He has gotten us results against some big teams (Italy, Mexico), but the team has been very inconsistent and also has lost to Jamaica among other poor results (Multiple draws with Canada). We also have not seen the wonderful attacking football that we first expected and were promised when he came, then again, results matter more than style points, and with the mediocre quality in the US side, surely Klinsmann has realized the need to play an ugly game sometimes to grind out a result. I don't see it happening, but I could be wrong. Another thing, he has lived in California for many years now, and I joke that he is more American than he is German, but does he want to trade living in California for living on Merseyside ? I believe he also has school-aged kids, so it would be a big move for them. *Also, the USMNT is in camp right now preparing for upcoming fixtures. Can't see him organizing a move to another job while working at a USMNT camp.
  16. By the same logic, I assume you think Baines would make an excellent manager here? This has been my avatar for three years now, I'll likely switch it to Jags soon, and will continue to do so with the club captain of the time.
  17. IF anyone from within Everton are appointed as manager, I think I'll perform everything suggested in the topic about Mark Hughes. It would be that bad.
  18. I read this headline on Twitter. The headline was "Jesus targets English move".
  19. I don't know about Martinez anymore. I hadn't heard this until the match today, but apparently Wigan finished 11th the season before Martinez arrived. Of course it is difficult with such a small budget, and losing your best 1-3 players every summer, but still, I'm just not sure. Now getting Wigan to 11th is TRULY a massive achievement (Steve Bruce of all people did it too).
  20. What a shame that we won't be qualifying for Europe. It seems 3/4 years 6th will get you into the Europa League due to the League Cup winner/FA Cup winner or runnerup having qualified for the Champions League or Europa League.
  21. We owe them one... They somehow managed to get a win at Goodison Park earlier this year (The only team to do so), in an incredibly unlucky result for us.
  22. Be strapped to a chair and be forced to listen to Mick McCarthy read names from an Icelandic phonebook.
