  1. I think the fact that Heitinga wants to leave and only has 12 months left on his contract has more to do with my desire for him to leave. When in form, he is a class defender, but his heart is out the door, and I'd rather sell him this window for something rather than lose him on a free next summer.
  2. Wow, impressed with his grades, nice to see a footballer smarter than your average rock for once. Good luck and congrats to him. Haven't heard of him at all, which leads me to think he isn't one of our big "Up and comers", then again, he is only 18, we'll see how he progresses over the next two years.
  3. Whoops, forgot the odd Russian Premier League calendar...
  4. 1. That requires Felli & Bainesy to want to stay 2. We need buyers for Naismith, Gueye, Heitinga 3. Not sure it would get us 7-8m 4. I don't think Honda wants to join us, and I bet his pricetag is more than 5-6m. (Unless he's entering the last year of his contract)
  5. Bought him on FIFA (for Everton ironically) in a January window where he had 6 months left on his contract for 750k. I swear every player I buy on FIFA we end up being linked to. Decent, young player, though,
  6. Funny, almost bought this fella in FIFA. Big, strong fellow who can play as a defensive mid or a centerhalf.
  7. Just announced we're playing Real Betis at Goodison.
  8. No way we could afford Isco, and I think he'll have better offers from bigger clubs than Everton.
  9. Great, impactful, creative player, but is a headcase off the field. My one complaint of his performances was that he was a complete diver. If he doesn't flop over every time someone gets within two feet of him, and doesn't show up to training hungover or drunk from the night before, you've got an incredible player, especially by Championship standards.
  10. I don't know... HItzlsperger is a decent, veteran squad player with a shot on him, but he's way past his prime, and I wonder if he'd prefer to move elsewhere where he can play more often than he could here.

    Hi

Millwall don't seem to get on with anyone. Even among themselves it would seem! Welcome to the board, mate!
  12. A lot of it has to do with Brad Guzan's finally breaking into the team at Villa, and doing incredibly well behind a very shaky defense.

  14. They definitely need freshening up to avoid being dragged into a relegation battle next year, but can they afford these good players' wages & transfer fees? I remember they had the 2nd lowest wage bill the first year they came up, and they don't seem like a club that could naturally afford to increase their wages by a lot and dish out these fees, I imagine it's due to the new TV money?
  15. Doesn't one of those have to be a backup goalkeeper as well? I don't see Magaye Gueye coming back... I imagine some of those other four (Duffy, McAleny, Junior, Vellios) going elsewhere if possible in order to get first team football. Once you're 21-22, first team football is what you need, not reserve football at a big club. Also, I still think Fellaini will move this window, quite possibly Heitinga, and maybe someone else (more of a surprise move.. Maybe Vic or Jelavic)
  16. Not a terrible idea if we can get it for under-market value due to company having financial problems?
  17. We don't have the quality, and we especially don't have the depth to compete for a title. Period. Besides, what are the chances Jelavic maintains top form for an entire season? Almost certainly unlikely.
  18. Win the league? Mate, I'd love to smoke some of whatever you're on.
  19. I want him to go. He can be a special player when he's on his game, and really dominate the midfield, but the problem is his "great" performances have been few and far between. He didn't look bothered much of this season. We could buy a few players and pay off some debt with the money we get for him.
  20. The endless number of sad puns and play on words on this messageboard never gets old.
  21. Isn't Doyle a left-winger? Whoops... I was thinking of Matt Jarvis I think.. Fair point. If he was a left-winger, I'd say he'd have a place in our squad, but probably not as a striker.
  22. Probably meaning that the club can activate a clause extending his contract by a year?
  23. Good point on Carlton Cole being an older Vic, agreed on Ebanks-Blake, definitely on Arshavin and I'm not sure whether Malouda has one to two decent seasons left in him. But I think Doyle is a decent player who would be a great bench player compared with the current crop of limp-dicked mediocrity that we have as squad players... You have to remember that our squad is tiny, so adding a squad player here or there could be a good thing. If we had a large squad of average players, there'd be no need to pick up a Kevin Doyle, but if we have a quality first 11, but are lacking beyond that, I think he'd be a decent signing. Not sure how I feel about Frimpong, he's young and hyped up, but I haven't seen much from him. Then again I hardly watched Charlton + Fulham this year.
  24. I think Doyle, Carlton Cole, and maybe Danny Simpson would all add something as squad players (although I'm less keen on him because we have better cover at rightback), but definitely not starting 11 players. Malouda would be a good signing assuming he still has some sort of work ethic. If it's true that Chris Brunt is available on a free, I think that'd be a good signing.
