  1. Never. Way too far from goal.
  2. For the love of God though, can Goodison crank up the noise in the 2nd half? Channel the noise from Manchester City or West Ham last year.
  3. Naismith scored in the derby last year, and now twice against Chelsea... He seems to know how to score in a big match.
  4. Goodison is distastefully quiet.
  5. Howard should've just hoofed it. Just made it up with a great save.
  6. Shame , we could really use Pienaar and Kone... Naismith starting could be quite the adventure.. I think the fact that Moyes or Martinez wouldn't put Vellios on the bench even when there was room for another striker shows that he just isn't that good. I mean, if he was good enough, both managers would've at least put him on the bench.
  7. He's a "minor doubt" according to Official Everton a few days ago.
  8. I understand, I just don't think this is the weekend to give him the start. Perhaps against West Ham or Newcastle.
  9. He can do worse. He could be a complete liability and dangerous defending, give the ball away. He's a promising kid, but his first start doesn't need to be against Chelsea.
  10. League One? Hmm, not sure what that says about him.. However I'm sure we wanted to loan him somewhere where we knew he'd get time, since 2nd choice fullbacks don't feature as often as say, 2nd choice strikers or midfielders.
  11. I'd currently start Kone over Jelavic. We don't know how well Kone can play, and he still is likely adjusting to his new team. He hasn't looked very good so far, and I've ragged on him a fair bit, but the jury is still out on him. Jelavic's goalscoring record of one goal in the past 25 league matches is so atrocious that I couldn't fathom starting him against Chelsea if I were RM. That being said, I bet Lukaku becomes our primary man up front after the Chelsea match.
  12. Hahahha perhaps. All in good taste though, mate. However, your title does label you the "perennial moaner" of this board.
  13. Are you related to Hafnia? You guys are both world-class moaners!
  14. Did you only start watching after the 2011/2012 season? It would explain your opinion of Heitinga.
  15. Hmm... Martinez must rate him pretty highly.. I imagine he must see something in McAleny if he's willing to talk up a 21 year old who has only gotten minimal first team experience and is now facing a long injury layoff. I wonder if McAleny is one who fits Martinez's style of play more than he would have Moyes' style. Anyways, a good follow up from the club, wish the best to Conor. http://www.evertonfc.com/news/archive/2013/09/07/mcaleny-already-making-progress
  16. Too thick. Young of course, but he doesn't seem to be enough of an intelligent, model professional type that needs to be the head of the dressing room and face of our club. No doubt he is a top player in the making, but leadership ability and football talent are two different things. To the Barry shouts- I wouldn't make a player who has just signed captain. I'm just against that idea, but maybe one day he could become vice-captain, or even captain. Honestly, I think Jags will make a great captain.
  17. Now, I normally would yell at you all to stop bitching about another club's manager now that the transfer window has shut, but that last sentence there was downright hilarious.
  18. Jags. Howard and Distin as vice-captains, I would say Baines, but it'd only be a tribute to his playing abilities, not his leadership qualities.
  19. Hope they don't interview him. I like him less when I have to listen to him, realizing just how thick he is.
  20. I quite like that as well. I think Vellios and Garbutt definitely ought to go on loan, and either Stones or Duffy as well. Who knows, while Duffy probably needs a loan for the sake of reenergizing his career and finally getting first team football, a run of Championship football could potentially get John Stones Premiership ready rather quickly.
  21. Like I said, Leighton's future is up to Leighton. United can't coerce him into a move, his future is his decision. This is assuming United still maintains an interest in signing him, who knows, they may go in for a younger option (Coentrao again).
  22. Something tells me we will sign Baines to a new contract before then. Either he signs a new long-term contract as one of our top paid players (possibly top-paid), or we may HAVE to sell him in January. Baines' future is up to Baines, no one else, something tells me that if he wanted the move, he would've pushed for it this summer.
  23. The lesson we've all learned today is that this board has a limited amount of "likes". So be prudent & conservative with them!
