  1. #1 is basically the old badge rehashed, #2 is the current badge rehashed... #1 or #3 for me.
  2. I can't see it unless we got to 3 centerbacks.
  3. I'd rather see Kone than Vellios. Kone still hasn't gotten much of a chance here. Jelavic has clearly lost his touch in front of goal. I think if Vellios was good enough, Martinez and Moyes would've both at least been putting him on the bench.
  4. Oh Leighton you're the love of my love, Oh Leighton, I'd let ya shag me wife! (can we transfer Felli's old chant)?
  5. I've been saying all along (Actually I haven't), you need to play well against an Allardyce team. His teams are tough to beat.
  6. I couldn't see any fullback selling for 25m. He's definitely not coming here even if Baines goes, unless the big clubs cool on him and his pricetag drops a fair bit.
  7. Agree with this. I don't think we'd lose Baines in January. If Moyes does try to sign a leftback, it wouldn't surprise me if he went back in for Coentrao or even made a move for Luke Shaw.
  8. I'm going to go against the current here and say that there is no chance of him coming here. We won't spend that type of money on an unproven young player, and there will be bigger clubs in for him.
  9. His 20 minutes as a centre forward has certainly validated your point .
  10. Just signed a new 2 year deal to keep him here until summer 2015. I think that means he'll be 21 when that deal expires, which must mean we rate him somewhat. Hopefully he can break through... We need a solid #9 for the future. Especially now that it appears Martinez doesn't really rate Vellios, and McAleny seems to be liked by Martinez, but whose development will be delayed EVEN further.
  11. This. I got into a debate with another Everton fan who doesn't rate Gibson.... Most kids where I'm from (USA) who claim to like football only care about wingers with a bag full of crazy tricks... Brazilian YouTube sensations basically.
  12. Forgot to mention John Stones. He made his Premier League debut, so big congrats to him!
  13. Got to be honest, I disagree with you SOMEWHAT (not entirely). I think Barkley's young-player type mistakes (Losing the ball too easily, subpar handling of defensive duties) led to him not seeing more time. I think Moyes was too conservative in his use of Barkley, but to be fair, a manager should be sure to nurture and not be too reliant on a 17-19 year old kid. A young player should be carefully integrated into the first team, not just thrown on one day at 17 years old and started week in week out. Moyes was too slow to give a lot of youngsters opportunity, but I'm sure he rated Barkley, any half-competent manager could see Barkley's talent. I can see why Barkley hardly featured in the 2011/2012 season, but he should've featured more after he came back from Sheffield Wednesday (which was a good move sending him there in my opinion). I hate how youngsters are always compared to Rooney, Gazza, etc.. It's unfair to them and puts too much pressure on them, but is an inevitable occurrence.
  14. England's U-15 captain too. Still though, it's so early, still a large amount of physical, mental, and technical (I Imagine) development to make it at the top level.
  15. I've been concerned with his performances. He and Osman both have been struggling, I hope this is just a dip in form and they can both pull a few more good years out for us. That being said, one day, Jagielka, Osman, Hibbert, Pienaar and others will have retired and Sylvain Distin will still be playing in an Everton shirt!
  16. No play from City, Newcastle, Palace, Cardiff, Fulham, Hull City, Norwich, Sunderland, Southampton either.

  18. I agree with both you and Bill. Barkley looks to be an absolute amazing talent. But, before we anoint him savior of the Western World, let's see if he can be a consistent impact player over the course of more than 4 games. We should not sell him at this point, because his value will likely go nowhere but up. As to his current value? I have no idea. It's impossible to truly value a young player because you have to value not only his performances to date, but his believed "potential/upside" as well. As for Rodwell, that's a tough one to answer. The lad has had too many injury problems to fairly evaluate him. If I had to guess though, if he could stay healthy, he could be a VERY good, effective player. A world beater? I don't think so, but a very good professional who could play for a lot of very good teams, but his name probably wouldn't be tossed around with the "elite few" players.
  19. A good article by Jamie Redknapp of all people: http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/18932/8922594/jamie-redknapp-backs-roberto-martinez-for-success-after-chelsea-scalp
  20. Don't think so quite yet. He has to show a top level of performance over a consistent period of time. He definitely has the potential to be one of the best RB's in the league though.
  21. Bring on Heitinga. Not joking.
