  1. Ossie is a royal cocksucker. Can't believe that. Ridiculous this. We need to get something out of this, as Newcastle are facing a 9 man Stoke after one half and the score is level. Poor Howard.
  2. I think I might agree with you on this one. He did a hell of getting Everton from a 0 to a 7 or 8 (out of ten), but he could never get the club past 7 or 8. He was a good manager, but he clearly did not know how/refused to take enough risks to get Everton beyond where he had taken us, and we stagnated under him for the last 3-4 years. To be fair to him, he might've been able to take us further with money, and the competition has grown over the past few years with Man City hitting it rich and Spurs becoming quite the formidable opponent. Martinez seems to know how to get the team to the next level though (at least knows how to get more out of the current squad), but he needs to prove himself in the transfer market and the team clearly will need a capable goal scorer when Lukaku goes back.
  3. Decent player for a relegation-fighting side or a really good Championship side, but not for us.
  4. Fair enough. I guess we all judge forwards on their goals and shots on goal a bit too much, rather than their overall performance. On that last bit, we could always bring Anichebe back
  5. You make it all sound like a conspiracy, lad. Honestly, I wish all of you would shut the heck up about Moyes for one second, good or bad. I was worried about Martinez at first, but he seems to have shown that he can at least match Moyes' results if not take us places that Moyes could never get us (right now it's appearing to be the latter), assuming he's able to buy well on our limited budget (to keep us successful, any manager here would have to know a value in the transfer market)...Please, for our 2014 new year's resolution, can we all talk about what a good manager we have brought in, instead of focusing attention to ex-players and Moyes.
  6. He's been very hit and miss for me, lately. Sometimes he's a monster, others he seems to half-ass his way through the match. To be fair, it seems like he's hardly got any service the past 3-4 matches, and today he seemed to not get much service early on and say to himself "It's gonna be another one of these days" and stopped trying at all (still inexcusable).
  7. Laudrup wasn't paying attention, Mike. He was reminiscing his Barcelona days via day dreams, in fact, judging by Swansea's form over the past 8-9 months, he's been doing it a lot.
  8. I don't know. Could've just been a knock he picked up. Twitter is freaking out.
  9. Fair enough I'll be sure to write those names down so I remember how infamously terrible they were.
  10. When did I say I'm not behind him? When he's on the pitch I'm all for him, but in reality, he's nowhere near Donovan's level. Oh, and Dan Gosling scored the winner against Liverpool in the FA Cup derby.
  11. I find it absurd that some here have rated Naismith over Donovan. Naismith is the epitome of mediocre, although I still think he can do a job here and there.
  12. Wasn't Lee Carsley another underrated one? A tad before my time here, though.
  13. Martinez didn't drop any names, so I wouldn't be certain any future worldbeaters are being offered to us. Landon's first spell was overrated while his second spell was highly underrated. Pienaar is still in the squad, so clearly we are not past Donovan, as he is still a quality player (I might know this as I watch USMNT and MLS). I think it'd be wise to bring him in, as Gerard D is out for 2 months.
  14. I've seen Barkley on the wing a couple of times, he's not bad. Him backtracking to defend would have me a tad worried, though.
  15. Yeah, he could get in the way of Scottish superstar Steven Naismith, or worse, Magaye Gueye.
  16. I'm 20 and quite the cautious driver. It's the most dangerous thing I do on a daily basis (driving), and to be frank, some of my friends' beliefs that they are invincible behind the wheel scares me.
  17. Not going to happen. Is Man U going to loan a player to a club higher up the table than them? No, that would help us pick up more points, hurting Man U's CL chances.
  18. He would be an INCREDIBLE signing. You make a good point, though. Centerback isn't our #1 priority.
  19. Sky Sports transfer newsline has reported a number of newspaper rumors involving us. We're the clear favorite for Aiden McGeady/ We're supposedly interested (along w/Sunderland) in Lazio attacking mid Honorato Ederson. Also, we're supposedly interested in Schalke centerback Joel Matip, a player I bought to Everton in FIFA. I rate him... Big, tall, decent pace, strong, good in the air. Everything you'd want in a centerback, he could be a good Distin replacement.
  20. All managers shift blame. That's how you survive. I think this Man U team is quite weak. A bunch of above average players mixed in with a few outdated stars and only a few real world beaters (RVP, Rooney at his best, De Gea is an up and comer)...
  21. I once loaned Shaqiri to Everton on FIFA, he's quite the player. If we got Pogba, I'd shit myself. Zaha? He could do well here, but I can almost guarantee Moyes wouldn't loan Everton a player while we are higher than Man U in the table.
  22. Non-issue for me. We have three impact players here on loan (I'll call Gerard an impact player because he is/was an effective supersub). People are talking about us like we're Watford, w/8-12 players on loan from Udinese/Granada and a few others. The truth of the matter is that our squad is still small, and probably will remain small, and that barring major investment, we will still have limited transfer funds, so these loans don't bother me. Where would we be w/o Barry, Lukaku, and Gerard this season?
  23. Can't believe they're sending him back to Goodison. I can believe and forgive to some degree Martin Atkinson, who made one awful mistake (and rescinded the decision, although it still fucked our derby), but Clattenberg's performance was despicable.
  24. It doesn't necessarily have to be either/or.
