    Stoke - away

    I can't tell if you're being serious.

This is why I've been calling for more squad depth. A few injuries and are bench is full of deadwood that can't help us.

Who does Stones think he is? Making stupid runs like that?

I think he'll be a good one. Whether he's ready now... We'll see. Stoke doesn't have the most talented forwards, but they are big aerial threats, so it will be a challenge for Stones.
  5. Nah, we don't need him! A good squad consists of eleven players, maybe less. If Mirallas or Pienaar gets hurt, we'll just play with 10 men and have wonderkid/second coming of Christ play both attacking mid and winger at the same time!
  6. Don't forget Gerard is a loan player. Look at Man City, Chelsea, Man U, all the top clubs have options... they don't just have two capable wingers.
  7. Most teams have 3 first team/senior keepers. The third keeper will almost never see time, but it's nice to have the security. Iain Turner is without a club, I wonder if he would be good enough to come back. I imagine he'd be on peanut wages?
  8. Still would like a third keeper. Ideally though it'd be someone who is experienced but very average. Unless Springthorpe is cracked up to be something, but I haven't heard anything.
  9. Then you run the risk of having no depth, or not being able to rotate the squad to give players adequate rest. You can't play the same 11 every week without them burning out at some point, see Spurs under Harry Redknapp. I'm not saying McGeady is or isn't the answer, but I think we could use another capable wide man (someone better than Naismith out wide), but it isn't enough of a priority to spend our limited budget all on a winger. Not every signing is going to be a record fee signing/superstar.

    Southampton

Howard is a 3 game suspension, I believe? straight red= 3 games, right? *edit* nevermind, apparently straight red suspensions are different per what offense? Professional foul= one match, but violent conduct is 3?

    Southampton

Just remembered we are one poor tackle or injury away from seeing Taudal or Mason Springthorpe in goal. We really need to come out strong for this one, as Southampton are a good side.
  12. I'll defend him on that decision. Barkley could've used a bit of a rest, especially w/a big match Sunday, and what better time to rest him than at home against the bottom side. I don't think anyone could've expected a veteran like Osman to make such a bone-headed move that changed the dynamic of the match. To be fair, Howard playing that ball to Osman was nearly as dumb as Osman's pass back, he should've kicked it long or found someone else.
  13. Shithouse result. Don't give a crap about the effort if we didn't get a result against the bottom club.
  14. I don't know. A draw probably helps us more in the table, unless you assume that City will eventually pull away and Liverpool will fall apart.
  15. Newcastle now 2-1 up... Need to get a result here.
  16. Because Lee Probert is a very incompetant ref. He reffed the City-Everton match at Goodison last spring and was utterly clueless.
