    The same thing could've been said about Jags-Alcaraz-Stones-Baines after the Derby. An argument based on one match isn't that compelling, in my opinion. MIxed feelings about this one. He used to be a top defender, but lately he's struggled it would seem.

    Only four or five choices in my opinion. Martinez and I hate to say it, Brendan Rodgers at the top... Both Tony Pulis and Gus Poyet have done remarkable jobs in getting Palace and Sunderland to have a chance to stay up... Part of me says Mourinho, but I think that he is less brilliant than City is inconsistent, and that's why Chelsea is top of the league.

    I wonder if either Duffy and/or Browning will be good enough, even as squad players. Duffy is too slow for the high lines we play, but he's still a decent defender.

    They're in a fight for automatic promotion. Hopefully he'll be able to play. He couldn't get time at Yeovil, who is near bottom of the Championship, but he did play a lot for Doncaster last year who earned promotion in L1.

    We all slagged off Anichebe, he never turned out boss, but he definitely had a better final season..

    I could see him leaving for Arsenal. They'll offer him a much bigger budget, they've consistently been in the Champions League, and they've been playing possession football for years.

    He just seems to net every match for the U-21's. Definitely deserves a chance, or at least a loan spell.

    We're too far back barring an epic collapse of Liverpool or Arsenal... Just can't see it happen, but 5th could be a very real possibility.

    Our set piece defending has been a joke all year.

    They'll be tough to break down for the first goal I reckon, but if we take a 1-0 lead, I bet the second will come much easier.

    Agreed. I don't see why everyone's written him off after just 45 minutes of time.

    I appreciate Neville. Played a good role here and was a good captain. He was a decent player who can put in a shift and direct others up until his last 18-24 months here... For every Phil Neville, there is a jackass like Van Der Meyde or Drenthe, so I can appreciate the "model professional".

    Probably a good thing it didn't. Would've drawn too much attention to him and put pressure on him. I still feel like he needs first team action... Maybe 3-6 months on loan would do him good next year, and he could come back in the winter some time when our squad is starting to collect a few knocks, injuries, and get a bit tired.

    This. Jagielka hasn't been bad. He's our captain and a great defender. No reason to drop him for Stones.

    Crazy. Wonder what's going on behind the scenes and why he has left/if he was forced out. He was very good at interacting with the fans. Not sure about his other duties, of course.

    Utterly disappointing. Silly freekick to give away followed by no one properly marking Terry or Ivanovic followed by Howard not doing enough... Damn shame.

    He's pretty good commentator. Martinez knows how to use the media better than most managers.
