  1. But is he ready to turn a new leaf by signing for a new team?
  2. Haf and I agree for once. That surely should mean DIame is a good buy at the right price?
  3. Definitely would be a good signing. Strong, powerful.
  4. Leeds United sent Barkley back, but he had already had a really good spell with Sheffield Wednesday... No. The Vellios ship has sailed, he's not good or motivated enough.
  5. I hope this happens as long as it's cheap. Would be a good addition as a squad player. LIke Roberto said, we'll need about 6 new players to cope with Europe.
  6. Good for them. Wonder if they could cut it at the Championship level?
  7. Yay... Though we will need more numbers in our squad, and some of those may not be the greatest players, but we will need them for depth. Also, we should make a habit out of giving young players a crack in the Europa League.
  8. Taking the piss, but remember McCarthy, Kone, Alcaraz, Joel (loan at Wigan)...
  9. He is really good. The problem is that he thinks he's Pele, Maradona, and Zidane mixed into one player, so he tries to do things way beyond his level...
  10. Been thoroughly unimpressed. Deulofeu is too arrogant for his own good, Clyne is stopping him entirely. No dangerous balls into the box from anyone...
  11. If he's on a free/minimal fee then I don't see the problem. He really has top level experience (Barcelona) and would be a decent squad player to have, though I reckon his wages wouldn't be overly cheap. Might be a wise move given that we will probably dedicate more transfer fee funds towards signing a top class striker.
  12. I like the idea of throwing some younger players out there. Hell, if we are eliminated from 4th by the time we play Hull, i wouldn't mind if we threw out a first 11 consisting of McAleny, Browning, Garbutt, maybe even Chris Long.../... oh, and maybe that young Hibbert fellow, I hear he can put in a tackle.
  13. Call me an idiot, but I have a feeling he could be one of those signings who will surprise us all and do quite well here even though the United faithful have never liked him. Similar to Gibson, but hopefully without the fitness issues.
  14. I was thinking the same thing. Not bad to be in the same company as Beckenbauer, Ramos, and Rio Ferdinand.
  15. This is why having a squad of players rather than a team of 11 is important... We're far better off squad wise than we were 12 months ago... Now we have Deulofeu and McGeady to step in.
  16. Let's see what Alcaraz does next year before judging him. He's a good enough player, but hasn't been fit enough. If he can get fit more often, he's a great squad player to have.
  17. Either to be taken over by a Qatari Sheikh, or for Man U, Chelsea, Liverpool, Man City, Arsenal, and maybe Tottenham to enter administration and get relegated.
  18. Is your illogical hatred of Howard greater or weaker than your illogical hatred of Naismith?
  19. Ah, he's out of contract. Sign him up then! Europa League is tough on any squad, but would be a massive stretch on our current squad.
  20. And we have Dunc vs Haf round 11... Can we just get the three points tomorrow and move on? It's a thrilling moment to beat United whenever it happens, and it would be even more fun to do it against the old gaffer tomorrow at home upon his return to Goodison, but I can't wait for the final whistle, because hopefully we can stop talking about Moyes then and move on to Southampton.
  21. Like others have said, he'd probably be a useful squad player, but nothing more... If the price is minimal, I'd take him.
  22. Howard should be a good number 1 for another 2-4 years I imagine... Hopefully closer to the latter, but I wonder if he'd be willing to stay on after his time as a #1 is done and be a backup/cup keeper, as he is a fixture by now at the club and a veteran leader. As to Joel, he'll remain the cup keeper, but I wouldn't rotate him into playing in the league... You don't rotate keepers, you have a clear number one. if we wanted Joel to get time, we'd be right to bring in another keeper and send Joel out on loan.
  23. I believe we actually only paid an initial 500k with the rest being paid in add ons/incentives.
  24. McGeady has shed some weight, gotten fit with time and proven that he is an energetic and tricky winger who can cause trouble with the ball, but I question his final ball/decision-making. Still, for 500k, a very good buy and definitely better than playing Naismith or Osman on the wing.
