  1. Would like to go after Nastasic or another Centerback on loan. Too bad Vlaar would cost a tad too much I reckon and is being chased by bigger clubs. Wouldn't mind taking a punt at loaning Vorm or Cech, but I don't know if their parent clubs would allow them to leave. We also need someone for the wing, as McGeady has no brain and Atsu is both oft-injured and not up to our level (though "our level" is quickly sinking to his, I suppose). I think we have to not do anything too drastic, not make any rash decisions, and find proper stopgaps who can get us through this awful season and possibly fire us to a top half finish if we can heal up injury-wise and improve in form. Nothing good is going to come of this season, let's get through it and try to rebuild in the summer.
  2. Worst journalism ever. Why would we sign a player to replace Howard, who will be injured through January, that is going to be at the Asian Cup with Oman the entire month?
  3. I was thinking of the same thing. That was a great bit by Neville.
  4. Nani- He's soft as dog shite. Would love to put a hard tackle in on him. Same w/Ashley Young. Cristiano Ronaldo, Diego Costa. Maybe Eden Hazard. Any soft as baby shit forward or winger who dives.
  5. Don't think he's a bad manager, but he should be linked with Palace and not us.
  6. I thought about posting in this thread a few days ago as a joke to take the piss out of the season, but it seems we've actually been linked with Traore again. Uh oh.
  7. Tossup between Howard and Jagielka. They at least had the decency to only torture us for 45 minutes rather than a full 90.

I don't want to open up a can of worms here, but we all got sick of Moyes being unadventurous at times. I can't say Martinez has been any more willing to change his tactics.
  9. Does he believe the garbage he says, or does he just continue to say nothing but positive things to the media for appearance's sake?

4-4-2. Hoof the ball to Rom so he can knock it down for Eto'o. Might create more chances than we have been.
  11. Campbell looked good in the World Cup, but haven't seen a prolonged run out of him. Think he's a bit overhyped and would've found first team football at a big club by now if he was that impressive.
  12. Doubt he'll leave in January, but I hope he departs in the summer. I think he's on the downhill slide.
  13. Mixed feelings. He'd definitely provide some of the directness we need to create chances (Rather than dicking around in the midfield all afternoon), but he was often so wasteful with the ball (not nearly as bad as McGeady though). Not sure if Barca would sell, or that we have 8m to spend. I think we need to be desperately looking to the loan market and for players with 6 months left on their contracts that are creative players.
  14. I'd take an in-form Tim Howard. That lad ain't bad,
  15. I'd say that this is one of the most important jobs with the club. He's really doing God's work by teaching the youth.
  16. He must be a League One quality player. Definitely not showing us that he's meant for anything better.
  17. With Cornish Steve on this. I'm frustrated as a fan, but sorry for Kone. Certainly he didn't want to get injured and certainly he's as frustrated as anybody regarding all these setbacks.
  18. Yeah, strange we gave him a 3 year deal if he's not actually going to feature at all.
  19. I'm wondering if there's any news on him. He hasn't been loaned out nor has he come anywhere close to the first team it would seem.
  20. Don't panic yet, folks. If we're in the same position after the next 3 or 4 matches when we have an easier run-in, then we can show real concern. I've been appalled by some of our defending as well as certain players' individual performances but this is Everton, we're used to slow starts (minus the past two seasons), and I think things will start moving in a better direction if we can avoid further injuries and some of our current injured crop returns.
  21. Welcome, Michael. I'm an Atlantan and so is Cornish Steve.
  22. Big pressure on Atsu to step up and for McGeady to live up to his potential. I don't want to put Osman or Naismith out wide, and we need Pienaar to get fit. I know it's not his best position, but Ross isn't awful out on the right wing.
  23. Hope he has a future here, even if he doesn't reach the heights that Stones seems to be on the path to reaching.
  24. I like him a lot, and I think Ossie's role should be minimal from now on. That being said, we have four quality central midfielders in Barry (though he seems to be off to a slow start), McCarthy, Besic, and Gibson (though his injury record means we can't rely on him)
  25. Just wondering, if no one liked you, would you care?
