  1. Who would a proper number ten replace on the pitch? McCarthy/box to box mid? I assume we'd still have an attacking mid and more of a holding mid like Barry.
  2. McGeady would be a star in any league where the defenders don't press as hard as they do in the Premiership and one where the game moves a tick or two slower.
  3. Well, Kone is like a new signing, Galloway could be a handy centerback, and I think you all will also look at Gibbo like a new signing when he returns and starts playing as a 10....
  4. I would absolutely love to bring him and Lennon and and to get rid of McGeady. That would be a cracking set of wingers. My gut feeling says we are working on a deal for Lennon and we were never that close to a deal/that interested in Shaqiri.
  5. I'm getting the Man City-WBA match when I pull up Talksport online.
  6. Don't hold your breathe on it happening though.
  7. He did throw a bunch of money and brought in a number of players when he first bought the Sabres. The team didn't reach the heights it was expected to so they got rid of all of their stars and have been trying to rebuild through draftpicks and young players ever since. It'll be at least a few years before they are competitive again but we'll see if the plan works.
  8. You were from Buffalo? All my mom's family is from Buffalo and I'm actually in town visiting them now! Small world.
  9. He would've been a star here if he hadn't slept with Moyes and Kenwrights missuses (the only explanation for his tenure here).
  10. You need to respect your elders, Romey! Seriously though, it's almost unreal with McGeady, possibly Lukaku, Deulofeu, Besic, and David Henen (I know he's not a first teamer yet) all suffering from hamstring ailments. Pienaar and Hibbert are injured again (both of them have pretty much been injured at least half the time for the past few seasons) and Gibson is going to return from another mid-long term injury only to inevitably get hurt after getting 6-8 weeks of football and looking quite decent.
  11. Weekly playing time is what he needs. He's not going to get it here. Baines will play almost all LB minutes if he's fit and Garbutt would have Oviedo to compete with for the remaining bit of time. I would like to assume that we could recall him from loan for a fee if there's an issue at the parent club? Don't a lot of loan deals have those clauses?
  12. I'm aware of that. I'm making a joke because shit like that only seems to be possible at Everton.
  13. Yikes. Hibbert out for multiple weeks for just a little knock on his knee?
  14. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hamstringing Perhaps Roberto has a sadistic side to him?
  15. You watch, we'll buy him and there will be some weird clause about him being unable to play Watford since they are owned by the same people as Udinese!
  16. I would say that Alcaraz on a free would've been a terrific signing had he been able to be fit more regularly. Very wise business. McGeady also was on the cheap so it looked shrewd as he does seem to have ability, but is unable to mentally make the right decisions to make an impact. I questioned Kone a bit more, but 6m for a striker that scored 12 goals the prior season for a relegated side isn't the worst bit of business, even if he was an older player. I don't think anyone would've predicted Kone's massive knee injury or Alcaraz never being fit. Alcaraz had a mediocre fitness record prior to coming here but he really couldn't stay fit here.
  17. Why? It sounds like Tom Macacleaverly had a terrific match.
  18. Maybe not a superstar, but most are saying that he looks like a really good player in the making and some are saying he's first team ready.
  19. Twitter is hyping him up to be a superstar at the moment. You think he's still very raw? He's only 17, so no rush. Most players don't seem to go out on loan until 18-20 before breaking into the first team.
  20. fair enough. Wasn't he not included in the matchday squad for the last month or two of the season though?
  21. He said on Twitter that he didn't mean any disrespect by it. I think he meant to compliment Stones more than take a dig at Everton. I'll believe him because I think he's an honest guy and I don't see the point in getting angry over nothing. Yeah, not sure why he got cast into the reserves. It's a shame he clearly has lost a bit of ability over the past year or so because I had always wondered if he'd be wearing our shirt at age 40!
  22. I have no problem with what he said.
