  1. I get your point, but not ideal timing ha!
  2. Shitbag ref. Classic card happy refs these days ruining the game. Poor form in the tackle but not enough force to be a red.
  3. Would love to see him make it here, even as a squad player. Having a few no nonsense, nonflashy defenders is always helpful.
  4. Adam Forshaw, John Ruddy come to mind.
  5. Moyes hasn't been very creative in his signings, but I think he's been given a tough hand. Sunderland are saddled with debt (unsure if its external, interest bearing debt or debt to Ellis Short) and Ellis Short is now trying to sell the club, so they aren't going to splash the cash. Had this been 3-4 years ago, he'd been given plenty of money for transfers like previous Sunderland managers, most of whom have squandered a lot of the money. Sunderland is a strange one. Everyone associated with the club describes a dysfunctional culture within the club that has almost come to expect struggling.
  6. Gerry has proven himself to be a YouTube player. Capable of making great highlights but not somebody who is capable of making a consistent impact across a 90 minute match.
  7. I think he can still improve. Not a worldbeater but worth keeping around at the moment. I don't normally like to take unnecessary and likely inaccurate swipes at ex-managers, but I'm going to do it here: He probably spent the past 3-4 years under Martinez learning more about passing and the rhythm of the game than he received about actual defensive goalkeeping skills.
  8. Agreed. I want to bring in another centerback but keep Jags here another 6-18 months. Jags is our captain and is very well respected within the dressing room. Not the worst guy to have around or on the bench. Not a weekly starter, but one of the few stalwarts of this club. Also, there is plenty of other deadwood that needs moving on (Gibson, Oviedo, Kone, possibly Besic).
  9. Think fans have held out hope for him because he pounds his chest and puts in tough tackles, but I don't think he's good enough to make an impact here and he's never healthy.
  10. Supposedly nearing his return. Hope he can find a way to stay relevant and secure a future with our squad. Not the flashiest player, but he has an underrated quality for today's defenders... He likes to defend.
  11. Moshiri couldn't get a stadium planned, negotiated, and built in six months while simultaneously managing numerous other business ventures! Moshiri out!
  12. Shame because fans only get excited about players if there is a huge fee attached to their name. Honestly, so many fans derided our transfer window a failure because we didn't make multiple "marquee" (high fee) signings. Realistically, we added a number of good players who are all playing a part in a good start to the season (Stek, Gueye, Bolasie, Williams)
  13. I would consider dropping Mirallas for Deulofeu, Mark, but agree with you otherwise.
  14. We are cursed at Anfield. Serious mental disadvantage for us there. I think Koeman may be able to get rid of that mentality though.
  15. I do have an opinion about Everton from time to time.
  16. Have we given a 5 year deal to anyone over 30?
  17. That's why you have a club captain, vice captain, 3rd captain.
  18. Leno and Horn are German and Cilleson is Dutch; the Netherlands and Germany both emphasize teaching English to kids in school.
  19. Think he's meant to do another couple years at the club and make 20-30 appearances each year rather than start every week given his age and fitness. Still a leader and a great player on the pitch who has a role to play here.
  20. Ship out the club captain during a summer of such great change even though he's still a capable defender? Nonsense.
