  1. Top Dollar for an Eritrean League level talent.
  2. Ian is an honorary American to me. He called USMNT games for ESPN for 5+ years and is a recognized voice by all Yank "soccer" fans. Love him.
  3. One of those you named never had any ability
  4. You say that but we won't see you on this forum once Lukaku is gone. Honest question, if you were stranded on an island with only David Moyes and Romelu Lukaku, what would you do?
  5. Let's sell him and sign Richard Wright out of retirement as the emergency keeper.
  6. This one largely depends on what type of wages he's on for me. If we're keeping him on a 200-300k/week Man U wage, then no thanks.
  7. Must be buddies with the Anderlecht owner and owe him a favor?
  8. Two-year deal makes me think that he's definitely a speculative/"one for the future" type buy. Not a certain future first teamer.
  9. Maybe we can bring Hibbo out of retirement
  10. We need further cover at fullback and I don't think we could ever stock up on enough quality forwards, especially if Lukaku is leaving. I still think this squad lacks a true playmaker/proper 10.
  11. Brilliant. What a summer we're off to. I just hope we resolve Lukaku and Barkley's future before the season starts so we have plenty of time to finalize the squad.
  12. If Jags is with the club, he will and should be club captain. He's a veteran leader and is respected by the squad. This is the very reason we have 2-3 vice captains who each should probably have a greater presence on the pitch than Jags in terms of games played. This debate is silly.
  13. and Naismith scored a hattrick against Chelsea. I don't rate him. He works hard, but that's about it.
  14. Good. Now we can loan him out next year and maybe get a fee at the end of it.
  15. Weren't people saying the same thing about John Lundstram a few years ago and he turned out to be nothing more than a League 1 midfielder?
  16. No offense haf, but I feel like that is far from an unforgivable offense. I mean, he wanted to snag two good players on the cheap. I'm sure we would have loved Koeman to bring Forster and Van Dijk or Tadic on the cheap and I am willing to roll my eyes at his comments rather than let them turn me angry. Moyes did a good job here and elevated the club's expectations, and I think that is what he should be remembered for. With regards to Martinez, he is a lovely man who is too idealistic to be a top manager. Funny though, he could probably do well if he were managing Barcelona or Real Madrid, but he has his head too in the clouds to effectively manage a team that doesn't have the best players in their given competition. Moyes was too afraid of failure and willing to push forward. Martinez was too idealistic to temper his expectations and play with more realistic tactics. Koeman is a good balance.
  17. I'm convinced that a large portion of Evertonians will hate every manager and player who has left us and most who currently wear the shirt.
  18. A club with a truly great youth academy and commitment to youth can find a way to bring youth through whose ceiling is more of a squad player than a superstar. Davies and Barkley were always going to make it at the senior level here, they are top top talents. Being able to turn Pennington into a reliable squad player in the defense would speak volumes to the academy, should he continue to develop.
  19. Should've signed a fourth senior centerback in the summer.
  20. Rojo deserved 3 reds for his challenge and walks away scott free and then they send off Huddlestone out of nowhere yesterday after a match with no malice on either side.
  21. Hope he recognizes his worth and is willing to sacrifice a year of higher wages that we'd pay in order to get back to playing regular football.
  22. Believe we signed him for only 500k, would be happy to let him to with no fee just to let both sides get on.
